Hi there CUT to YOU fans! It’s Kirei back with the first of my layouts for the month and I am using one of the fab new November release cut files called ‘Grateful For You’ that you can find here in the shop. I thought it was perfect to scrap a photo of my husband and me together…
I decided to cut the cut file quite large and pair it with this wreath patterned paper from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘Daydream’ collection which I layered onto another of the patterned papers and then stitched around with gold thread for a bit of extra sparkle!
I backed the cut file with one of the coordinating patterned papers and then attached it to the wreath background with foam pads to create dimension.
Finishing the layout was really quite easy then…. I mounted my photo onto a few pieces of patterned paper and then distressed the edges. I added some of the coordinating ephemera, fussy cut rainbows, flair button, sequins and little paper flowers. I did add in that cute yarn rainbow from the Crate Paper ‘Magical Forest’ collection as it matched perfectly! And I was done!

I have lots of paper layers, patterns, and textures going on in this layout, so I knew I needed to keep some of the elements simple. So, I kept the title simple with just a basic black outline for a little definition.
I used some stickers and embellishments tucked inside some of the layers to create more interest and dimesion. I just love the look of layers upon layers. It makes my scrappy heart so happy! 🙂
And that is the completed finished project. Isn’t it delicious!? LOL! That cake may have added a couple of pounds to my waist line, but it was totally worth it!
Hi everyone! Kirei back with my second layout for the month and I am using another one of this month’s new cut files and it’s the perfect one to go along with CUT to YOU‘s 2nd birthday celebrations this month! The cut file is the ‘Happy Birthday’ title cut file and was just right to use with these photo’s of my husband’s godson’s 11th birthday that was also this month!
I cut the ‘Happy Birthday’ title in white cardstock but also used the offset feature in Silhouette to create a solid mat for the title that I then cut out of one of the Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘Legendary’ patterned papers.
I wanted to add shaker pockets to some of the letters so to do this I added some clear plastic packaging to the back of the ‘B’, ‘R’ and ‘D’ before using thin strips of sticky backed foam to create a wall round each letter. I then filled each one with some sequins before adding the backing. Now I did actually back each one individually as that was easier than trying to attach the entire title mat on with the loose sequins!
For my background I distressed an 11″ x 11″ piece of the ‘Legendary’ woodgrain paper and stuck that onto a frame of the ‘Legendary’ star paper. I then added the entire title to the layout using foam pads as I really wanted it to pop from the page.
I layered my photos onto some of the coordinating patterned papers from the collection and stuck them down using foam pads on the the top edge creating a cascading effect above the title.
To finish off I added some of the matching ephemera, clear stickers, stickers and enamel dots to embellish the layout… and that was me done!
I was also joining in with one of the two fun challenges to celebrate CUT to YOU’s 2nd birthday this month called ‘Two-Riffic’….
Anyone can join in, you just need to use a CUT to YOU cut file on your layout and add a pic of your layout to the relevant album on the CUT to YOU HQ Facebook page to be in with a chance of winning a prize!
Hi everyone, Kirei here with my second layout for the month and this time I used two of the fab new May cut files… called ‘Homemade Happiness’ and ‘Bakers Gonna Bake’ that are available now in the CUT to YOU shop! Now I don’t bake normally and am not a fancy cook but during lockdown I have been trying out new recipes and decided I needed to bake my husband’s favourite chocolate flapjacks! Nothing fancy but a big deal for me as I just wouldn’t normally do it…. so they had to make it onto a layout and these cut files where just perfect!
I decided to use the Pinkfresh Studio ‘Noteworthy’ collection as I love the colours but better still there was a cute little bakery shop in the ephemera pack which was perfect to go with the two baking themed cut files!
For my background I picked a pretty yellow gingham patterned paper, then cut a curved strip from the top and bottom of the layout. I distressed the cut edges then backed the top and bottom with the same patterned paper that I used for the cut file title.
I cut the ‘Homemade Happiness’ cut file title twice, from one of the patterned papers and from white cardstock as I wanted to combine the two. I filled in the ‘HAPPINESS’ letters with the ones I cut from the white cardstock, this helped it stand out more against my yellow gingham check background. I stuck it down with foam pads as wanted to add some dimension.
Then I cut the ‘Bakers Gonna Bake’ oven glove also from white cardstock and backed it with a pretty floral patterned paper. I attached it straight to the background but only in the centre as I curved the edges of the oven glove for more dimension. Then I added a small wooden enamel button to make it look like the oven glove was hung on it.
To finish off I added three small photos that I backed with a coordinating patterned paper, these are stuck down flat on the bottom edge and raised on foam pads at the top edges.
I finished off with some cute ephemera, puffy stickers and enamel dots to the right of my photos, and as a cluster at the bottom of the layout… love the little bakery!

Hi everyone! It’s Kirei back with my second layout for the month featuring another of the fab March cut file releases called ‘So Berry Sweet’ which is available here in the CUT to YOU shop now!
I decided I wanted more than just the one strawberry for my page so once I opened the design on my Silhouette I used the ungroup function to separate the strawberry from the title. Then I highlighted the strawberry and clicked regroup, before copying it so I had three of them which I then resized.
I cut the three strawberries and the title out of white cardstock, but also cut the title out of the same patterned paper that I was using as a frame for my layout.
Before removing the strawberries from the silhouette mat I painted them with some watercolour paints. Once they were dry I stuck the outer part of the design onto vellum and then added back all the small pips one by one! I made it easier by putting the inner part of the cut file back which helped me stick them in the right place…
I stitched some white cardstock onto my patterned paper frame and then layered up my photos onto some coordinating patterned papers. I then stuck down the strawberries around my two photos, and added some cute matching embellishments.
I finished off by layering the two titles together but slightly off centre so that the patterned paper title was just showing out from the edge.
Thanks for popping by, don’t forget to check out all the fab designs over in the CUT to YOU shop! See you next month…
Hi everyone, Kirei here with a new layout featuring one of the fab CUT to YOU March releases! I’ve gone a little fruity and am using two of the new fruit cut files for my shares this month, the first one is the ‘Lemons’ cut file…
Now I have to confess that this didn’t end up how I planned it… as it was initially going to have a giant shaker for the centre lemon slice! So… what happened? Well I backed the two outer lemons with patterned paper raised on foam pads and when it came to doing the middle one I realised that I had forgotten to back it first with some vellum! Oops…. so then looked to see if I could recover it but decided I was likely to end up ripping some of the cut file so onto plan B!
I wanted to back the centre with the same patterned paper as I had used for the layout frame but it was a little too bold so backed it with vellum first and then the paper and it was perfect! Remember there are no mistakes in scrapbooking, only opportunities!
I added my photo to the top left of the layout mounted with lots of layers of matching papers and some tags. Then added some of the ephemera to either side of the photo.
I added a few fussy cut lemons and some of the ephemera down to the bottom right just to balance the photo cluster in the top left.
I searched online for an appropriate lemony title and thought this one was perfect to go with my photo of us out and about at an event near to us…. ‘Life’s short, live it with zest!’
I hope you’re feeling inspired…. why not pop on over to the CUT to YOU shop to see all the new releases and loads more fab cut files! And don’t forget to join us over on the CUT to YOU HQ Facebook page… see you later this month for another fruity layout!
