I had some adorable photos of my grand baby and knew the I Heart You cut file was the perfect title to go with my photos.
I cut the title on white textured cardstock and backed it with some solid cardstock in two shades of coral. I popped it up on foam adhesive and paired it with this color blocked background paper from Felicity Jane.
I grabbed some embellishments that have been sitting in my stash for a long time and challenged myself to get them used up. Vellum embellishments always seem to be a struggle for me to use, but I was determined to find a way to get them on this page! So, I just did what I love to do. I layered them! I used them as a base and added lots of other elements on and around them to create embellishment clusters.
And ta-da! I was able to use up almost all of the vellum embellishments and am really pleased with the outcome!
Thank you for stopping by the blog today and checking out my project! I hope you are able to find some time to scrap this week. Be sure to stop by the Cut to You shop and browse through all the new goodies. You are bound to find something to spark inspiration!
Hello Friends! I am sharing a new layout of my grandlove, Emery. I have used the lovely, new Rosey Posey Polaroid cut file for this layout. I knew this picture needed florals and I loved the frame element of this cut-file, so it was an easy decision!
I cut the file out twice on textured white cardstock. I originally wanted to use the frame as intended using two photos, but I was not able to crop the photos in a way that I liked to fit the frames. Therefore, I decided use only one photo and to lay the full-sized photo on top of the frames. Problem-solved!
I used several different paper pads from Maggie Holmes Crate Paper collections to back the cut file. I also used foam and sticker embellishments from her different collections. Tip: I find that often times when you mix and match papers and elements from different collections but from the same designer/ manufacturer the tones and hues coordinate nicely.
I had the butterfly elements in my stash and found that they coordinated with my color palette. I like the texture of the butterfly and glitter heart elements add to the layout, plus they help bring together the colors from the cut-file and layered paper under the photo.
When I look at this picture of my granddaughter, I see my sweet baby girl who is growing into a more independent young pre-teen. The black cowboy hat mixed with her soft pink dress kind of represents this transition from little girl to pre-teen to me. I wanted to match that feeling with the elements I chose in this layout. The bold black elements really contrasts with the soft pink and gives the mood I was going for in this layout.
This was a fun layout to create and I love this cut-file! It is so versatile and pretty. I hope you gain a little inspiration and try using this cut file for your next design. I would love to see it in the Cut to You HQ Facebook group, if you do!
Sometimes you just need a little floral beauty and creativity to brighten up your day! This was one of those days. The Simply Flora cut file made me happy just looking at it! I imagined bright and cheery blooms and colorful patterned paper … and my mood was instantly brightened and inspiration struck! I knew the perfect photo to go along with the cut-file and a layout idea was born! 🙂
I cut the file on textured white cardstock and then used bright and cheery colors and patterns to back the cut-file. As I was going through my stash, I came across this whimsical hedgehog and bird element and knew they had to make it on this layout. I mean.. just look at all that cuteness! ❤
I used clear gesso on my backgroud and added some watercolor splashes and gold mist droplets under the cut-file for another layer of happy color and loveliness.
I layered more floral stickers, gold leaves, and hearts for more dimension and interest. (You can never have enough layers, can you?)
And taaa-daaa! A completed layout of my darling grand-love that makes me so happy and creatively satisfied! If you are in need of a mood lift, go check out all the lovely floral cut-files in the shop… it won’t take long before you feel inspired and perhaps a bit happier! ❤
