Boo | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest post for CUT to YOU. I hope you are all doing well, and have some time to prepare for Halloween. We don’t celebrate this holiday in Hungary, but my daughter got to know about it through the cartoons, so she would love to try once that “trick or treat” sweets collecting game 😀 She already got a Halloween costume , which she wears proudly each October. 🙂

Of course, I had to scrap the memory when we were together shopping those clothes. I chose the Ghostly cut file for my layout.

I’ve been thinking about trying to make a layout with transparent ghosts, so I first cut the Ghostly cut file from white cardstock, then from a patterned cardstock from the Hey, Pumpkin collection of Crate Paper. I wanted to use the black cobwebby paper for my background, and highlight the gosts with the white cut file.

I wanted to fill the holes with a transparent sheet of foil, glue the eyes and mouth of the ghost on it, and ready. But in the meanwhile I changed my mind, and started to make shaker boxes from the ghosts. I used heavy cardboard to create a dimension for the sequins, and it took a while to cut out and glue down all those curves and little lines…

When I was ready with the glueing, I got out my powder tool and swept the foil pieces with it in order to prevent static, namely the sequins won’t stick to the foil. Then I started to fill my ghost boxes with different sizes and patterns of sequins, which were part of the September Song Base Kit at Clique Kits. When I was ready I closed the boxes with a 12″x12″ white cardstock.

I backed my photo with white tissue paper and some patterned papers of the same collection and the purple one is from BoBunny. I also add a heavy cardboard piece under the layers to add some dimension.

Finally I added some chipboard and phrase stickers, some thread and my journalling to the page. I hope you are going to try this technique, although it is not a 30 minutes layout, it is definetely worth it! 😉 Go to the shop and get some of cut files from the latest release!

BOO BOO BOO| Tarrah McLean

Hi CUT to YOU friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a spooky layout featuring the awesome Halloween 1 cut file. I don’t know what it is about Halloween but I just love documenting it!

Halloween 1 cut file

The cut file was cut using black cardstock and although I cut out the entire design, I decided to leave off the half spider web part, I have put it aside to use on another project. I felt like it would have been squashed on the page and may have looked out of place, I am happy I left it off.

I just recently purchased the Hey Pumpkin collection from Crate Paper so I just had to use it for this layout of my lil pumpkin, Amelia, my gorgeous niece! How super cute is that photo?! The Boo title connected to the spider web was perfect too as Amelia looks like she is jumping out of the pumpkin and saying Boo! So I backed the ‘BOO’ title section with one of the papers in the collection and then added craft foam underneath, I love the dimension this brings to the page, I even added tiny strips of craft foam under the spider web to help it sit up too!

Above the spider web was the ideal spot to place my photo, I layered a tag underneath the photo and added some embellishments here. On the spider web, I added the white chipboard spider web and some wood veneer stars. On the title section, I layered more chipboard pieces, cut outs and puffy stickers. The pieces I chose help tell the story, I love the piece that says, ‘You’re the Pumpkin to my Spice’!

The Halloween 1 cut file would look great cut out in white, orange and purple too! I would love to see how others use it. Make sure to share any of your projects in the CUT to YOU Community Facebook group!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my layout. Happy creating!

Halloween Banner | Raechelle Bellus

Hello! The Hoiday Season is coming upon us, and while I am generally not a huge fan of Halloween, I do enjoy creating Halloween-themed projects. I was digging through my stash and came upon this cute little 4×4 Acrylic Banner set and thought it would be a perfect way to showcase all of the current Halloween cut files featured in the CUT to YOU store.

I’ll show each of the banner sections below, but first here are the cut files I have used to create this project.

The first two are brand new this month: Ghostly and Halloween 2, the third is an older one: Halloween 1.

I’ll showcase each piece of the banner in order from left to right. In all there are 10 pieces. Most of them have a component of at least one cutfile, some more. There are also a few that do not feature a cut file, but I will share them anyway.

I added some tangled up thred behind the web just to add some more texture and whimsy to it.
I just had to add one of the cute little ghosts to this one.
No cut file featured on this one.
I cut the web off of this and focued on the “Boo’s” since I used the newer web.

Another featuring no cut files.

That adorable ghost is peeking out in this one, too.

I popped the ghosts with foam and adhered them a bit askew to create some whimsy. Each of the faces are backed in black cardstock. It’s not noticeable through the photos, but I sprayed all the ghosts with some white shimmery mist (I did the same to the cobwebs).

I used the same thread technique with this one as well.
No cutfile featured on this one.
Lastly, I again removed the web from the “Boo’s” and popped in a couple of ghosts.

I hope I have inspired you to create something Halloweeny with these fun cutfiles!

Be sure to share your projects with us at the CUT to YOU HQ on facebook!
