Hello crafty friends! Today, I’m sharing a new layout I made using an awesome background cut file: Hearts on Strings. I just love these sweet and whimsical loopy hearts! I wanted to scrapbook some photos of a pasta class I took with my husband for our anniversary and these hearts reminded me of the noodles we made!

I love using background cut files in a monochromatic way. It adds so much dimension and texture to a layout without adding too much visual clutter. For this layout, I cut out the Hearts on Strings cut file in white card stock and then used a fine tip glue bottle to glue it down to another piece of heavier white card stock. For this technique, I find it easiest to glue the middle part, stick it down and then finish gluing all the outer edges.

I used one of the heart pieces to embellish the middle of starburst and finished the layout off with some stitching and a little black splatter.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Make sure to stop by the CUT to YOU shop and check out all the amazing cut files Gwen has made! So many inspiring designs!!

Hello scrappy friends! 🙂 Today I am sharing a layout featuring the Hearts-on-Strings cut file, one of the fabulous new May releases. My heart skipped a beat when I saw this fun and whimsical cutfile.

I created a mixed media background to pull in some more of the richer pink color similar to the flowers.

Keeping a repetitive and fun mixture of patterned paper behind the hearts keeps the eye moving across the page.

Some large fussu cut flowers and butterflies add to the whimsy of this super fun cut file!
