Firstly I am so proud to be a part of Cut to You and happy 2nd birthday to you! In celebration there is lots going on, I love a mood board challenge and this PINK one is just gorgeous. Make sure you join us!
And here is my take on the Mood Board challenge, of course I had to do a birthday themed layout. I have used Pink Paislee And Many More collection.I have used the gorgeous Let’s Party title cut file which is perfect for a birthday themed layout.Paper tearing was one of the first techniques I remember learning when I started scrapbooking many years ago, I have noticed of late it seems to be trending again and so I went back to a fav. I tore the top and bottom corners of my pink paper and backed it with a 12×12 banner paper, leaving the tears unglued so I could tuck elements under.
I cut my title Let’s Party measuring the space where I wanted it to go using white cardstock. Then choosing a bright coloured paper I cut each individual letter and heart segments (I always use the release compound function on my Silhouette Cameo to do this). Some letters and heart parts I used foam tape to adhere to create a 3D effect.Lastly I added my photo creating a polaroid photo mat and then embellishing with party themed elements. Lastly I added paint splatter of gold and white to add to the party effect. And there you have it one PINK PARTY themed layout. Head over to the shop for all your party and birthday themed cut files. Thank your stopping by and see you again soon!
Hey craft friends, Rachel here! Today I have a fun layout created using two cut files, Let’s Party and Unicorn cut files.
And here is what I created! I have used Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl collection.Firstly I cut the Let’s party title in white, I resized it so it would fit my page design. I used the ‘release compound’ function of my Silhouette Cameo which allowed me to seperate my letters and cut them individually. I used foam tape to adhere as I wanted to create a 3D effect.I then embellished around and on my title so your eye is drawn here, again I have used foam tape on my embellishments to create a 3D effect. Don’t be afraid to used embellishments on your cut files, here I added the rainbow and it adds more of a wow look!I added my 6×4 inch photo portrait under the Let’s Party cut file, in the centre and again I added with foam tape. I did not mat my photo, instead adding some cute emoji stickers under the photo. As I have two feature embellishment clusters I didn’t mat my photo as I didn’t want my layout to look ‘too busy’.Now what is better than one super cute unicorn, two right! I used the Mirror function on my Silhouette Cameo which essentially allows you to flip cut file images, which allowed my unicorns to be facing each other.I again using the release compound function so I could cut the different parts of my unicorn in different papers. I added a little gold to finish her off.I added them with foam tape under my photo finished off with a sentiment sticker….. You are Magical! And there you have it one super cute birthday layout! Head over to the Cut to You shop to see these and all the other gorgeous cut files available now. I hope you all have a wonderful and creative week. See you soon!
Hello fellow Crafters! It’s Michelle here today with my very first layout share for CUT to YOU! I am so unbelievably EXCITED to be here sharing my work with you all, so lets get straight into it..
As this month is the very first birthday for Cut to You I thought I’d create something that follows along with that theme, and ties in with our newest Inspiration Board. Such a sweet colour palette to create with. So Inspiring!
There are a couple of new files this month that are PERFECT for documenting a birthday theme, in particular the BALLOONS, and newsletter Freebie for July – LETS PARTY text. I thought these designs would work wonderfully with the sweet photo of my daughter Leila from her first birthday party.
I started the layout by creating the large title using the LETS PARTY text (shown below) and resized it to approximately 8.5×4.5 inches in Silhouette Studio, then cut it out on white cardstock. Next I cut the backing piece out of pattern paper by only choosing the outline of the cut file. I find this is the easiest way to back a cut file if you’re only using 1 pattern paper.
I also added some more sparkly gold glitter and a complimentary pattern paper to these hearts.
Next I worked on the balloons by following the same techniques as I did with the title piece. Resizing and cutting the main file using white cardstock, editing the file in Silhouette Studio to only show the main outlines and re-cutting using the gold glitter paper to back the detailed parts of the balloons. I also backed the 2 rounder balloons with some vellum for a softer feel.
I arranged the balloons around the title and photo stack and adhered using some foam tape and glue dots to give them some dimension.
Tucked in a few ephemera pieces to add detail and balance to the layout, and a sprinkling of gold colour shine to add some finishing touches.
Well thats all for me and my very first share. I hope you like it!
