Smile | Diamond Heart cut file | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a pretty scrapbook layout featuring the gorgeous Diamond Heart cut file

I started by choosing a dark pink patterned paper for the cut file to be cut out from. I knew I was going to place this on a plain white cardstock background so the dark pink was perfect for the contrast. I did trim down the white cardstock and matted the entire page onto a colourful background paper. I do like how this helps the cut file and the elements on the page to pop!

Diamond Heart cut file

I adhered my photo and most of the embellishments that frame the photo on the right of the page, I did keep the embellishments small on this layout so that it did not take away from the pretty cut file too much. I added my title to the bottom of the heart, I chose a teal coloured title as I love pink and teal together so much! I also added a few of the pretty hearts around my page too.

At the top of the cut file, you can see I have added a bow, I just love bows and so whenever I get the opportunity to add one, I do! I think it goes so well in the middle of the top of the heart. I also added some chipboard and puffy sticker floral pieces around the perimeter of the diamond heart cut file. Lastly I stamped the date stamp on a small tag and my layout was complete.

Thank you so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today. Sadly this is my final layout as part of the awesome CUT to YOU design team for a little while. I would love to thank Gwen and all you amazing readers and crafters for all of your amazing support!

Happy creating!

HELLO NYC | CIRCLE GARLAND CUT FILE | NENASCRAP

Hi CUT TO YOU friends,

It’s NenaScrap back with you today to share a new fall layout featuring the fabulous Circle Garland Cut File.

I cut the cut file twice with my Silhouette Cameo : once in white cardstock and a second time in printed paper, keeping only the outer edges. This way I was able to back my cut file very easily by superimposing the 2 cuttings. I love the it looks !!!

I used the pretty fall collections Bungalow Lane by Paige Evans and Peaceful Heart by Jen Hadfield.
I cut a circle in the center of the Bungalow Lane #12 printed paper. I used my cut file as a template for this.

I glued a white cardstock behind my printed paper which forms with the Circle Garland cut file like a frame on the white background. I glued my cut file with 3D foam squares to add volume.

The cut file being in 2 parts, I hid the gap between the 2 with my photo on the right and my embellishment cluster on the left. This gives the effect of a wreath of leaves.

I used Bungalow Lane die-cuts and epoxy stickers as embellishments. I love the beautiful fall colors in this collection, which goes perfectly with the Circle Garland cut file and the photo of my kids during our trip to NYC in 2014.

You can find the video process of this layout on my YouTube channel :

I hope you like this layout and that it inspires you.
Thank you for stopping by.

Have a happy crafty day.

Hugs & Kisses from France.

Autumn Leaves | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! I’m here today with a layout using one of the fab new releases called Fall Leaf Circle which you can find here in the shop. I combined it with the autumnal Paige Evans ‘Bungalow Lane’ collection and some photos from last year showing all the glorious leaf colours we saw as we went on our daily walks.

I backed the cut file with one of the papers that has lots of different patterned squares on it so was perfect as the patterns were smaller and just right for the each of the leaves!

Then I prepared my white cardstock background my covering the edges with a piece of paper so that just a sort of elongated circle was left in the middle and then added lots of splatters using shimmery paints to match the colours in the patterned papers.

Because I didn’t want the cut file to be too hidden behind my photos I cut it in half which meant only a small part was covered. I stuck that down to the background using sticky foam pads to add dimension and then added lots of small jewel embellishments from my stash. I had some of the fab autumn leaf Bramble Fox Perspextives in my stash and these went perfectly added in around the cut file.

I mounted each of my photo in a colour to coordinate with the photo and then distressed the edges slightly, as this allows them to stand out a little more when layered up. Then I added these to my layout with more sticky foam pads.

To finish off I added a title using the coordinating ‘Bungalow Lane’ alphas which I stuck onto some of the dark navy patterned paper so they stood out above the cut file, along with some other gold Thickers from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by, don’t forget to pop on over to the CUT to YOU shop to check out the latest cut file releases! Make sure you sign up to the newsletter here to be sure you don’t miss out on a fab free cut file each month!

CUT to YOU | Tea Cup Posie Cut File | “Favourite” | Melinda Sweetman

Hey and hello scrappy friends and fellow cut file lovers!! Melinda here with you today with my next share as part of this A-MAZING scrappy team!!

Eeep, I just love it!! That cut file is just beautiful and available here in the store!!

As soon as I saw this cut file when Gwen shared it I knew I had the perfect photo to scrap with it from Mother’s Day this year!! I had discovered a new love for tea – or perhaps a re-ignited love – earlier in the year and hubby and my boys picked me this gorgeous little teapot with cup as a special gift and I just LOVE it!!

I’ve dug into my stash for this and pulled out the Paige Evans “Truly Grateful” collection as I loved some of the sentiments and, to be perfectly honest, this was the first collection that worked really well with the colours in my photo!

I will let you know however that this cut file took me more time than I thought it would to back but oh boy, so worth it! I just love the way it came together and that I was able to keep it fairly soft and pretty but at the same time bring in some pops of those bolder and more bright colours!!

Other than my photo and this cut file I had NO IDEA what I was going to do with this page but as you can see, lots of words!! In lots of different text’s, colours and textures that somehow just all work beautifully together and with my cut file and photo!

I do have a process video for you and I’d love for you to check it out! You can either head over to YT or just hit the play button below!

I haven’t yet had the chance to cut any of the GORGEOUS new designs that Gwen released this month but oh boy!!!
I am fairly certain that I shall be cutting the super fun “Popcorn Party” and “Popcorn” cut files VERY soon however, as I am getting braces in a couple of weeks and popcorn, I believe, is a big no-no!!!

That’s it for me for today and I’ll be back again later in the month with my next share! Until then, happy scrapping!

Just One More Chapter | Book Lover cut file | Tarrah McLean

Hi crafty friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am here to share a sweet layout featuring the gorgeous Book Lover cut file. The Book Lover cut file set has lots of elements making it excellent value for money! For this layout, I chose to use only the Just One More Chapter title.

Book Lover cut file

I cut the title from white cardstock and then backed it with a pretty pink paper. I knew I was going to use the yellow patterned paper as a background so I needed a contrasting colour to make the title stand out from the background. Once the cut file was all backed, I added craft foam underneath the cut file and adhered it to the yellow background. You can see in the close up photo below the dimension and shadows this creates.

As the title cut file design is heavy on the right side, the left side was the perfect place to add the sweet photo of my sister and her daughters reading a book together. It also worked well that my photo was in landscape orientation, it fit perfectly next to the title. I did overlap part of the title onto the photo so that everything flowed altogether.

On the right hand side of the cut file, I placed some chipboard pieces that are books and also the die-cut piece reading, ‘Books and More Books’. I couldn’t add too much to this side as the design of my page travels right across the page from left to right. Small embellishments are perfect to help tell the story and enhance the design. I also added a few things on top and below the cut file to add some more subtle detail and interest.

I love how my layout turned out and hope you enjoyed it too?! Make sure to check out the CUT to YOU online store for amazing cut file designs for all your projects! Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy creating!

Far and Wide | Backpack Cut File | Rachel Lowe

Hi CTY friends today I have a layout to share using the fab https://createdbygwen.com.au/product/backpack-cut-file/. As soon as I saw it a travel themed layout came to mind!

I wanted it to be bright and fun so I enlarged it and paper backed it with the new collection by Paige Evans Go the Scenic Route. I added machine stitching to add texture and definition.

I added it to a 10×10 inch white card stock with foam tape so I could add elements later. I added two borders to the white card stock (isn’t this heart paper gorgeous!). I then added embellishments behind the backpack, tickets and a packing list, perfect for my layout theme.
I next added my photo (with foam tape) which is 3.5×3.5 inches, this photo is of me in Turkey Istanbul in 2016. I matted my photo, added some machine stitching and then tucked a floral bunch and tab/heart behind my photo.
Lastly I added my title, following the shape of the backpack, I used bright coloured alphas so it wouldn’t get lost on my layout. I added some typed details such as destination and date.

I love how this turned out, and this backpack is so gorgeous and I know I will use it again for different themed layouts. It is a must have in your cut file library. You can shop here https://createdbygwen.com.au/shop/

Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting!

So Proud Of You | Melinda Sweetman

Hello everyone!! Melinda here with you today sharing another 12×12 layout featuring 2 photos AND 2 cut files!!

Cut file number one is “Award Ribbon (So Proud)” which I have only used the title from and cut on smooth white cardstock.

Cut file number two is “Leaf Edge” which was also cut on smooth white cardstock.

You can see my whole process in my process video below, just hit that play button, sit back and enjoy!

And a super quick run down of what I’ve done and the products I used! So, I am playing with the Paige Evans “Bloom Street” collection for this one and could not resist that pattern paper for my background! *insert all the heart eyes*

I’ve added mixed media to my leaf cut files and then backed them with vellum. Note – this was a very dainty and somewhat time consuming task but I really love the subtle element it adds!

I have backed my title with a paper from the 6×8 paper pad. I used my Cameo software to cut the pattern paper to fit perfectly behind my cut file!

I finished off with 2 small clusters. One to the top right of the photos – where I also tucked in a little tag with some journalling and another to the bottom left of the photos.

I hope that you have enjoyed my share today and that I have inspired you to create something with beautiful cut files, pretty papers and stickers!!

Make sure you check out the store here for more amazing cut files and so, so much inspiration!!

Until next time, happy scrapping!!

I {Heart} You | Melinda Sweetman

Hello, hello CUT to YOU friends!!

Firstly, I would like to wish all of you Mum’s out there a very Happy Mother’s Day!! I realise that for everyone it is not “best day ever” stuff so to those of you in this category (and everyone else 😉 ) I would like to send you a big virtual hug all the way from sunny Perth, Asutralia. Filled with lots of love and hopefully some extra scrappy mojo!!

Today’s share is a bit of a special page for my biggest little guy, the one that made me a Mum 10 years ago!

For this page I have used the “I heart you” cut file. It’s a bit of an older file but totally captured the sentiment for this page! And I really love how versatile it is!!

I knew I wanted to use the Paige Evans Bloom Street for this page – my boy loves colour, rainbows and of course, iridescent shiny things – and he chose (between 2) my background paper and also the paper I would use to cut my title. I love his choices and the way the title pops off that background!

I’ve seen so, so many people do this technique (namely Rachel and Piroska!) and really love it – mostly for the point of difference it offers!! I cut this twice on my Cameo using 2 different pattern papers from the 6×8 paper pad and just switched the internal heart pieces over!

This technique is so so easy too!! All you have to do is cut the file (as you would normally!), stick the outline flat to your layout (or this would look really cool as a card too!!) and then using foam dots/cardboard or what ever you have to hand to add dimension pop up the internal letters inside the outline and voila!!

The other thing I was 200% sure of when I started this page was that I wanted it have a fair amount of journalling. From me to my boy. Speaking about being his Mum. I chose this 6×8 patterned paper from the new Shimelle collection, pencilled out my journalling and then, using a silver pen, added it permanently to the page.

I used a punch to add the notebook detail to the top of my lined paper and scraps of the papers I had used for my title, tucking them together to look kinda like they’d come out of a notebook.

Now time for the fun stuff – embellishing!! By the time I had my photo, title and journalling in place it was pretty easy to finish off with 3 clusters to draw your eye around the page.

I started with stickers from the sticker book in the collection and added elements to each of the 3 places of embellishments. Some pieces were popped up while others were tucked and others still were stuck flat to the page.

From there a few smaller elements from the 6×12 cardstock stickers. Again, some flat, some popped up and some tucked. I was so excited when I found 3 of those adorable bees? butterflies?; I’m not entirely sure but they are so cute!! And the lady bugs too!

And finishing off with some Nuvo Drops. I’ve done 3 in each cluster using the “Grey Mist” Jewel Drops which dry translucent. Then 1 of the “Bubblegum Blush” in each cluster and 2 of the “Blue Babe” to complete the page.

I am so happy with how this page came together!! I love when an idea works out better than you thought it would! I’m not sure about everyone else but I don’t often journal these “deeper” things right there in the open but I am so glad I did, especially for today’s share! Mother’s Day is not just about one day cause (I’m certain we all know this already!!) a Mum’s job is never done!!

I also have a process video which you can see simply by clicking play above!

If you haven’t already, make sure you check out the new release over in the shop, there a few specific Mother’s Day cut files but also over here in the store! And so, so, so many of the non-specific cut files would also work perfectly like the gorgeous “Floral Hearts Frame 02” or the “Homemade Happiness“. You could always make yourself a coffee and just browse the store for endless hours too 😉
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope that wherever you are and whoever you are with you are having a truly lovely day doing things that you love, especially getting in some scrap time!!! Until next time, take care!
Melinda

HOME | Michelle Stokes

Hi Friends its Michelle S here today with a new layout share for you all. I chose to document a funny family photo for this creation to features one of the ‘Special Edition’ designs released as part of the NEW Home Bodies release. Its an interesting time world-wide right now, and were taking each day as it comes in our little house.

The Home Grid cut file is perfect for filling up an entire 12×12 layout, and those cut little houses! I had a hard time working out which pattern paper I wanted to back them all with.

I resized the design in silhouette studio to approx 11.5 inch square and cut it out on white cardstock. I then chose a couple of different pattern papers from the Bloom Street collection to back the different elements. Dark floral for the letters, ombre hearts on pink for the ‘O’ heart, multi colour hearts for the house’s, diagonal stripe paper for the house roof and the blue tartan style design for the chimney.

I’ve added some vellum to each area of the grid that had an element to fill in with pattern paper, then adhered the cut file piece to another piece of cardstock using foam tape for a slight hint of dimension. This entire piece was then adhered to a 12×12 piece of the dark / bright florals from the same collection.

I kept the layers behind our fun family photo to a minimum as there was already so much colour going on in the background. I chose elements that co-ordinated with the dark floral paper

Along the top right of the cut file Ive added a cluster of elements that sit slightly over one of the little houses

Diagonally across the page along the bottom edge I’ve added similar elements to the top cluster to tie it all together.

Well friends thats all from me today. I hope this post has found you safe and well. Be sure to check out the other cut file designs that are part of this collection. You can find them HERE. Also don’t forget to share all things CUT to YOU within the CTY HQ group on Facebook

Thanks again for stopping by!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping

Live Life in Full Bloom | Rachel Lowe

Hello cut file crafty friends, today is all about florals and leaves in bloom! I have used the gorgeous new cut file Lots of Leaves Frames.

And here is what I created.

IMG_4849 I have used the new collection Bloom street by Paige Evans and hand made flowers (yes get your hand punches out and layer away!).fullsizeoutput_4ec6Instead of my go to white base paper I have used this gorgeous multi coloured striped paper as I joined in the great challenge over at CSI Challenge Blog.

IMG_4365

I cut the file at approximately 10×10 inches and then backed the lower frame and leaves in the same paper. I then added my photo to the top frame.

5935B56F-88BA-4F63-B0CC-7D7DF84CAC47

fullsizeoutput_5060This type of cut file makes it so easy to embellish in such an eye catching way.  I set about embellishing the bottom frame by adding my title, a die cut phrase, adding a layered flower and die cut butterfly. I went off centre for visual interest.D36B9D50-D77E-4B42-8E14-ECCF0A0F9EB9I added my layered flowers in amongst the leaves coming off the frames, this way they look like they are a part of the frame.74C39253-72E8-4587-A245-77D7E63B669DTo finish off I added some phrase sentiments and more flying beauties such as this lovely bird as well as the butterflies.Untitled-2This is a very ‘busy’ layout for me but I like it for a change of pace so to speak (back to white card stock tomorrow lol!).

Thank you as always for stopping by and more than ever in these challenging times how lucky are we to have such a hobby to fill our time at home.

Take care and stay safe.
