Hey Cut to You friends! Today I have a layout featuring one of the new super pretty floral cut files, Roses and Frames
I have used the new collection by Heidi Swapp Honey & Spice collection which is just beautiful!
I decided I wanted to use a 3×3 inch photo, so re sized the cut file so the frame would fit my photo. I centred this on my white cardstock but did not glue down the leaves so they would give the appearance of movement on my page.
I paper pieced the two roses and leaves by using the ‘Release Compound’ function (Silhouette Cameo) which allows you to seperate the rose petals/leaves and cut, which means your roses will look perfect!
I then attached my photo with foam tape to create height on my layout and ensure your eye would be drawn to it.
The second frame I created an embellishment cluster which reflected the theme of my photo/layout. Again I foam taped some of the elements which allowed me to tuck some under. This is where I took the opportunity to add a sub title and word sentiments (my form of journalling for this layout).
I added a second embellishment cluster to the right of my photo, adding some more word sentiments, a gorgeous bird die cut finished off with some tiny glitter hearts and a word sentiment tab at the top of my photo.
Lastly I added my title ‘Be Happy’ with foam tape and to break up the white I added some light splatters of gold spray.
You of course could add two photos and create embellishment clusters to each side of the frames.
And there you have it one super pretty layout where most of the work is done for you in regards to design with this gorgeous cut file.
Thank you for stopping by and see you later in the month where I will be sharing some Christmas Tags in preparation for Christmas, there is nothing more fun than creating your own Christmas wrapping and tags!
Hey all Rachel here, here is my first layout for October and I have used the gorgeous Travel Grid cut file (yep I love grid layouts!) . This time my theme is photos from a trip to Italy, picking some highlight photos. I have used Pebbles Inc Adventure Awaits collection.
I cut my grid is a bright colour as I wanted it to contrast against my dark blue background. However I did adhere it to a white cardstock so when I embellished they would not not get ‘lost’. My grid is cut at 10×10 inches.
Before adhering my grid down I added die cut flowers to each side, tucking them slightly under before sticking it down on my blue base paper which I did with foam tape to create dimension.
I added my photos first (from a trip to Italy). I cut the word TRAVEL in a floral paper and added with foam tape to create dimension. If you use the release compound function on Silhouette you can drag each letter out of the grid which makes it easier to cut in papers other than the grid cut cut out. (I only have a Silhouette Cameo but I am sure other cutting machines would have a similar function).
I created a sub title by using one of the squares adding the country and date.
Then the fun bit to embellish the squares. Again I used foam tape to add embellishments for height. Some embellishments I layered over each other and some flow into the nexr square.
I added small puffy stickers to each grid keeping the travel theme in mind. You could of course add lots more photos to this grid layout.
Well that’s it from me today, thank you for stopping by and I hope this layout using this gorgeous TRAVEL grid inspires you to get out some holiday snaps and create your own scrapbooking memory!
Hey all Rachel here! Today I have a layout to share using the gorgeous cut file, the heart grid background
I love this for two reasons, it is a grid design and it has a title included! I have used the new Heidi Swapp collection to create this layout.
Firstly I cut the whole cut file in white cardstock at 10×10 inches. I the used the release compound function and separated the letters and hearts. I cut two each of the letters, one in pink and then the other in the black & white leopard paper. I slightly off set each when I added to the grid.
Next I embellished the hearts, adding the paper heart with foam tape and then embellishing each one. I wanted my layout to have inspirational quotes to fit with the theme of my daughter.
I next added paper pieces to the squares and continued the theme of using inspiration quotes and embellishments.
To break up the white I added brightly coloured paper strips around the edges. You could of course add more photos to this layout, paperback behind the letters, cut in a coloured cardstock, the creative possibilities are endless.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you all have a wonderful creative week!
Hello CTY friends today is all about travellers notebooks. I am a huge fan of them as they are a quick way to document and journal whilst still keeping it pretty! I have used the TN Fun in the Sun cut file to create my spread.
I cut two of the sun rays, but the second I flipped horizontally using the MIRROR function on my Silhouette Cameo, this way I could create a double page TN spread. I cut it in white cardstock and adhered straight into my TN notebook.
I chose two colours to create the sun rays (I have used Maggie Holmes Sunny Days) and used the Release Compound Path to seperate the rays to be cut, this is a quick and accurate way to paper piece cut files.
I sized the title Fun in the Sun title to fit my page, cut in white cardstock and then used a light pink paper to paper piece and added with foam tape to add dimension.
I then added my photo and embellished to draw your eye to it. I again added with foam tape.
I typed some journalling and added them to the rays.
It is amazing how much you can fit onto a TN page, and like me if you make it a double spread it really is like a mini layout.
Thank you for stopping by today and I will see you again later in the month! Happy creating!
Hello scrappy friends Rachel here! Today I have a layout using two cut files, the beautiful Butterfly Garden Background cut file and the title from the Candles Page Builder cut file.
I often mix and match cut files, here I took the title to use on my layout!
And here is my layout, created using Pinkfresh Studio Just A Little Lovely collection. I cut two of this cut file, exactly the same in sizing knowing I wanted some of the butterflies and flowers to bend up naturally.
I used a mixed media background paper with a floral theme so my Butterfly Garden cut file would work especially since I decided to cut it in white. I paper backed the flowers and butterflies using an ombre paper from the collection, so different colours would be peeking through but not be overwhelming.
I added brads to some of the flower centres and tiny die cut flowers to the others. I added a woodie to the large butterfly. Once I had placed my photo which I added with foam tape I set about creating my title. I sized the words to fit around my photo. I cut in white and then used the release compound function and pulled out the individual letters and cut from a water colour effect paper from the collection. I added some of the letters with foam tape to add height and variation.
The two larger butterflies I focused on, adding a puffy sticker under one of the wings, a floral die cut and adding the woodie feature to the other butterfly.
To finish off I added a tab under the top of my photo, some sentiment stickers and puffy heart sticker.

Hello Cut to You friends, Rachel here! Today I have a baby themed layout to share using the gorgeous new cut file Shine Bright
I have used Pink Paislee Little Adventurer collection which is perfect for baby or young boy layouts. I cut my white cardstock down to 11×11 bordering it with a lovely cloud rose gold flocked paper. I sized the Shine Bright cut file to fit on my 11×11 inch cardstock. I chose a grey heart paper to paper back the moon and a beautiful blue for the stars and title.
I paper backed some of the stars and the others I added with foam tape to add dimension to the stars (it avoids them looking flat). I finished off adding some drops of NUVO clear jewel drops.
So my title didn’t look ‘flat’ I added some of the letters with foam tape, it really draws your eye to the total and to finish off I added the super cute elephant die cut.
Then I set about creating a embellishment cluster using my photo at the centre. In adding my photo frame with foam tape means I can tuck elements under, I tend to play and shuffle for a while before settling and sticking down. Over and under is the key to layering and you will see here I have done that. I followed the shape of the moon in layering this embellishment cluster. I added another phrase die cut under my photo and again added NUVO clear drops to the cheeks of the cute critters and flowers/leaves.
I love how this layout turned out, this cut file is so beautiful and really it’s three cut files in one, moon, stars and title!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope this layout has inspired you in some way! See you again later in the month.
Hi all Rachel here again and today I have a layout featuring my daughter (again). Her holding balloons in the photo inspired me to use the Kite Trio cut file and I used the clouds from the Hot Air Balloon cut file that I used earlier in the month.
I used Simple Stories Oh Happy Day collection. I used two of the kites so I could have plenty of gorgeous clouds. I used the release the compound path function so I could drag out the centre of the clouds and then cut. Once I had done this added to the cloud outer with foam tape which creates a 3D effect. The larger cloud I paper backed by cutting by hand but using two different papers. The second smaller kite I added the four paper pieces with foam tape to add height. At this point, I added splatters of a light turquoise paint.
I used NUVO jewel drops to the bows if the kite string. To finish off I added tiny flowers behind some of the clouds. I decided not to mat my photo but to ‘frame’ it with flowers, layering them behind my photo. I added my title using a banner die cut ‘make today rock’. I finished off adding a die cut tab with a tiny heart and last but not least a die cut bird.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful week creating!
Hi all, Rachel here and I am so excited to join the team! I am passionate about cut files and incorporate them in almost all my scrapbooking and other paper craft projects. Today I have a layout created using Oh Happy Day collection by Simple Stories. Whilst browsing the shop I just couldn’t go past the gorgeous Hot Air Balloon cut file.I have used Simple Stories Oh Happy Day collection. So I could add several different coloured and patterned papers to the balloon I released the compound path which meant I could drag out the parts I wanted and cut (Silhouette Cameo). I then added it to my white cardstock with foam tape, knowing I would elements under, it also creates a 3D effect.
I added die cut flowers from the collection under the hot air ballon on opposite sides. I added a sub title ‘stay wild’. I used NUVO jewel drops on the polka dot paper in the hot air balloon and clear NUVO jewel drops to the centre of the bows of the hot air balloon and flower centres. I finished off my hot air balloon with a sweet bird die cut.
I created a layered mat for my photo using several different papers, I added some machine stitching for texture. I added my photo with foam tape. I tucked some tiny flowers in between the paper layers of my photo, a paper bow, my title ‘everyday awesome’ die cut banner and another sweet bird die cut.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I will see you again later in the month.
