I fell in love with the Tropical Punch cut file the minute I saw it! I have created a summer layout (of course) using a photo of me in Capri Italy and yes we had a drink just like this!
And here is my layout which I created with Crate Paper Sunny Days collection.
I used a pale pink cardstock to cut the outer of the cut file, which once attached to my page a added machine stitching to add definition. I then chose a pink and blue striped paper to paper piece the tropical punch glass/cup. I added the flowers with foam tape to add dimension.
I paper pieced the umbrella keeping it in the pink and blue hues. Adding pops of colours is important when your layout has a majority colour, so I added a bright green for the leaves, a bright yellow for the lemon and peach patterns for the fruits on a stick, I used a blue and gold patterned paper for the straws.
Again I added some elements with foam tape to continue adding dimension to my page.
I didn’t use a mat for my photo but instead placed it in amongst the printed floral border, and creating an embellishment cluster to the side of my photo.
I added my title ‘Look on the Sunny Side’ in between my photo and cut file to connect them visually.
I finished my layout off by adding embellishments that added to the tropical feel of my layout.
This cut file is a wonderful page builder for any layout. To see this and other new release cut files head over to www.cuttoyou.com.au
Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful and safe week.
I wanted it to be bright and fun so I enlarged it and paper backed it with the new collection by Paige Evans Go the Scenic Route. I added machine stitching to add texture and definition.
I love how this turned out, and this backpack is so gorgeous and I know I will use it again for different themed layouts. It is a must have in your cut file library. You can shop here https://createdbygwen.com.au/shop/
Hi CTY friends Rachel here! Today I have a fur baby love layout to share using the gorgeous Bow Cluster cut file.
I sized the Bow Cluster cut file as large as I could go on a 12×12 cutting mat. I used a beautiful floral paper to paper back the bows and add the bow centre with foam tape to add dimension. I have used a mixed media background paper (I have used Pinkfresh Studio Celebrate collection) to provide a contrast. This page builder cut file is perfect to add visual interest and layers to your layout.
I chose where I was going to add my photo but before adhering I created two floral bunches on either side of my photo. I then used foam tape to add my photo to create more height.
I then created an embellishment cluster that would also be my title under my photo.
I added some die cut butterflies over the floral bunches with foam tape so they didn’t get lost or appear flat on my layout.
I found a super cute wood dog embellishment in my stash and just had to add it even!
This layout is so pretty you could use many types of photos/themes, but my fur baby turned seven this week and I was a little nostalgic and found this puppy photo to scrap.
You will find this cut file in the shop now along with so many other gorgeous cut files!
Thanks for stopping by today and see you again soon.
Hi CTY friends Rachel here! Today I am sharing a layout featuring the Our Story cut file.
I love this cut file with the gorgeous book and title. I have used Crate Paper Fresh Bouquet collection. I chose a background paper and splattered some gold lightly over it. I then cut my title in a blue and the book in a cream. I decided to use two patterned papers for the pages.
So my pages appear to be slightly ‘up’ I did not adhere the top of the pages (cream cardstock) this way they have a natural curve up. I added a sentiment sticker with foam tape to add height on the left side of the pages. Next I added my photo.
I added my photo (of me with my tribe) with foam tape and tucked a flower under the frame. Then it was about adding those smaller details that pull a layout together. I added two flower die cuts to the top of my page, layered and the top one with foam tape. I added tiny flowers over my title, a phrase sentiment over the heart and an adorable bunny!
Here are some more photos of the book part of the cut file:
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you in some way! Head over to the Cut to You shop!
I have used the new collection by Amy Tangerine Picnic in the Park. As I knew I would be using bright and bold colours/patterns I cut in white cardstock. I used white glitter on the words that would remain white, it shows beautifully in real life (not so good in my photos), also adding some dimension and texture. Next I chose my four rainbow pieces keeping it fun and vibrant. Once I adhered these to my white cardstock I added machine stitching using a turquoise coloured thread.
I added a foam sticker rainbow from the collection to finish off my rainbow. I next added my photo (that sweet treat is worthy of being scrapped!!!) using a bright coloured mat which I used foam tape to adhere so I could tuck elements under and over my rainbow and photos.I added embellishments around the phrase of this cut file to draw your eye.
Some of the letters I added with foam tape and others I left flat, this certainly adds visual interest and keeps your layout from appearing ‘flat’.
This cut file is the complete package, a beautiful rainbow and layout title all in one! To see all the other August new release head to the Cut to You shop
Hello CTY friends, how gorgeous are this months new releases! I had a difficult time choosing which ones to use. I love the new Spring Floral Edge cut file and had to create wit this first up.
I have used the gorgeous Sweet Story collection by Crate Paper. I wanted this cut file to be the feature of my page especially as I have used a busy background paper. I attached off centre on my background page using white cardstock to cut the file.I then chose my colour combo, choosing a bright floral blue paper for the flowers an a pale pink for the leaves. To add texture to my layout I added machine stitching to the leaves. I added the flower petals with foam tape (except the flower centre) to add dimension and height. I also at this point added splatters of white paint across my page.I next attached my photo which I double matted so it did not get lost against my busy background. I further framed it with embellishments and my title ‘my lovely life’.
Now it was time to get out those pretty embellishments and make some clusters!
I avoided adding floral embellishments as with this cut file you wouldn’t want to over do it with florals. With some of my embellishments I added with foam tape to create more height on my layout.I love how this turned out, modern, whimsical and the spring floral edge cut file is certainly the star of this layout (and the photo of my gorgeous daughter of course!). Make sure you head over to the shop to see all the gorgeous new August releases. Thank you for stopping by today and stay safe and well.
Hi CTY friends Rachel here! Today I have a 8.5×11 inch layout featuring the gorgeous recent release So Berry Sweet cut file.
I wanted to scrap a photo of one of my 3D paper crafts, a picnic basket and strawberries and as well as this perfect cut file I used Crate Paper Sweet Story collection a perfect pair!
Once I had sized the cut file as I wanted it I cut it in white. I chose the beautiful strawberry paper to back my letters. You will note in the close up photo, some of them have been added with foam tape to create dimension.
I next set about paper piecing the strawberry which I kept true to life and then added to my page with foam tape. As I always do I used the ‘release compound function (Silhouette Cameo) to pull elements out of the cut file and cut individually.
I next added my photo (2.5×2.5 inches) which I matted against a yellow paper to keep the balance between red and yellow. I added a large die cut to draw your eye to the photo and then added some phrase sentiments to tie in with my theme.
I then added smaller embellishments to finish off my layout, some with foam tape for dimension. I used a gorgeous floral paper for my border which contrast wonderfully against the white cardstock. It’s fun to scrap memories that don’t involve people, but other things that are a part of you and your life.
Well thats it from me today. Be sure to head over to the Cut to You shop to see this and all the other gorgeous cut files. See you again soon and happy creating!
Firstly I am so proud to be a part of Cut to You and happy 2nd birthday to you! In celebration there is lots going on, I love a mood board challenge and this PINK one is just gorgeous. Make sure you join us!
And here is my take on the Mood Board challenge, of course I had to do a birthday themed layout. I have used Pink Paislee And Many More collection.I have used the gorgeous Let’s Party title cut file which is perfect for a birthday themed layout.Paper tearing was one of the first techniques I remember learning when I started scrapbooking many years ago, I have noticed of late it seems to be trending again and so I went back to a fav. I tore the top and bottom corners of my pink paper and backed it with a 12×12 banner paper, leaving the tears unglued so I could tuck elements under.
I cut my title Let’s Party measuring the space where I wanted it to go using white cardstock. Then choosing a bright coloured paper I cut each individual letter and heart segments (I always use the release compound function on my Silhouette Cameo to do this). Some letters and heart parts I used foam tape to adhere to create a 3D effect.Lastly I added my photo creating a polaroid photo mat and then embellishing with party themed elements. Lastly I added paint splatter of gold and white to add to the party effect. And there you have it one PINK PARTY themed layout. Head over to the shop for all your party and birthday themed cut files. Thank your stopping by and see you again soon!
Hello crafty friends today I have a layout sharing the super adorable Mrs Fox cut file! All the heart eyes for this cut file.
And here is my layout!
Of course she had to be the focus of my page so I cut her at 8.5×8.5 inches and adhered to my background page with foam tape so I could tuck elements under later. I decided to go with a little mixed media background instead of my go to white cardstock so the fox blended in naturally. I then paper pieced the fox by pulling out the sections as I wanted (using the release compound function Silhouette Cameo).
I then adhered my photo choosing not to mat it as I didn’t want my page to end up look too busy., but added some floral die cuts and a phrase sentiment.
I added my title by using a die cut and tucking some flowers under the foxes tail. I finished off adding some enamel dots and two puffy stickers. I love how she turned out and I think it goes with the photo of my tribe perfectly!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and head over to the CTY shop to see this and all the other new release cut files.
Hello CTY friends Rachel here and today I have a vintage themed layout to share. This photo is of my great, great grandmother who I was blessed to have in my life until I was 10 years old, I having such fond memories of her. I have used two cut files on this layout both new releases Adorable You and Love Heart Rows.
I have used the beautiful collection by Uniquely Creative Winter Rose. I added a row of machine stitching to each ‘wood panel’ of my background paper. I sized the Love Heart Rows cut file so it would sit in-between the printed floral blooms on the background paper. I set aside some of the ‘negative’ hearts so I could add some later. I next positioned my photo with foam tape which I used a die cut frame (I also added some machine stitching around it).
I then started to add embellishment clusters, where I could adding machine stitching in keeping with my vintage theme, taking some elements under my picture and some over.
I next add my title using the Adorable You title cut file. Once cut I used an embossing folder (dots) and ran it through my big shot, this adding texture and a pretty effect on the plain paper. I added the YOU with foam tape to create dimension, all these techniques attracting your eye.
I then added some of the negative hearts that I put aside from the Love Heart Rows cut file, some I added with foam tape to add height and others I used a dot of wet glue.
To finish of I added a light spray of gold and white paint, which again keeps the vintage theme going.
I love how this layout turned out, lots of varying dimension and textures. Don’t be afraid to use machine stitching, it doesn’t have to be super perfect or neat, although that will come with practice but the textured effect is so worth it. These two cut files are just beautiful and are a must to have in your cut file library.
Have a wonderful week and I hope you get a little creative time.
