Hello friends! It’s Shannon up on the blog today bringing you this fun layout featuring the ever so cool “Make Your Move” cutfile. I decided to use this cutfile for a putt putt adventure so I chose to save the chess pieces for another day.
You can see here that I added some heavy stitching around my background as well as used a contrasting patterned paper from the Simple Stories “Safe Travels” collection. I love how the pieces nestled right into the cutfile. There are so many fab new cutfiles in the Cut To You shop!
Hey and hello scrappy friends and fellow cut file lovers!! Melinda here with you today with my next share as part of this A-MAZING scrappy team!!
Eeep, I just love it!! That cut file is just beautiful and available here in the store!!
As soon as I saw this cut file when Gwen shared it I knew I had the perfect photo to scrap with it from Mother’s Day this year!! I had discovered a new love for tea – or perhaps a re-ignited love – earlier in the year and hubby and my boys picked me this gorgeous little teapot with cup as a special gift and I just LOVE it!!
I’ve dug into my stash for this and pulled out the Paige Evans “Truly Grateful” collection as I loved some of the sentiments and, to be perfectly honest, this was the first collection that worked really well with the colours in my photo!
I will let you know however that this cut file took me more time than I thought it would to back but oh boy, so worth it! I just love the way it came together and that I was able to keep it fairly soft and pretty but at the same time bring in some pops of those bolder and more bright colours!!
Other than my photo and this cut file I had NO IDEA what I was going to do with this page but as you can see, lots of words!! In lots of different text’s, colours and textures that somehow just all work beautifully together and with my cut file and photo!
I do have a process video for you and I’d love for you to check it out! You can either head over to YT or just hit the play button below!
I haven’t yet had the chance to cut any of the GORGEOUS new designs that Gwen released this month but oh boy!!! I am fairly certain that I shall be cutting the super fun “Popcorn Party” and “Popcorn” cut files VERY soon however, as I am getting braces in a couple of weeks and popcorn, I believe, is a big no-no!!!
That’s it for me for today and I’ll be back again later in the month with my next share! Until then, happy scrapping! Mel xx
Hello beautiful friends! I am so happy to be sharing my latest Design Team project with you today. I have gone for yet another monochromatic look using the Daisy Bough Cut File to document this sweet little photo of my husband and daughter.
I am a real sucker for a circular design on a layout and I loved how the open circle of the Daisy Bough Cut File added a gorgeous flourish to my oversized rosette.
You can see how I created this layout in more detail in my process video below.
Here are a few more close up images of the completed layout:
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by the blog today. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Hello friends! It’s Shannon up on the blog today bringing you this summery layout featuring the fab “Good Time Summer Fine” layout and the Simple Stories “Pool Party” collection. I have four small photos on this project where you see my sun playing around with a ball lakeside.
I just had to make that big sun into a shaker pocket! I then used four different patterned papers for the large title. Don’t you just love how a cutfile can help you create a layout ever so quickly?!
Hello my scrappy friends and welcome to the CUT to YOU blog today! Melinda here with my next project for CUT to YOU and I have something a little “softer” and somewhat “prettier” than my norm! I hope you enjoy!
I have used the beautiful “Love Grows Here” title cut file which was cut in white textured cardstock.
I have made a slight adjustment to the cut file – I cut off the stems of the daffodils that go into the “o” in the word “grows” for a simpler look. I have used a few pattern papers to very simply back my cut file and then I popped the whole thing up to help it pop off the background.
I have chosen 2 3″x4″ photos from Mum’s Day this year; one with me with each of my boys at the end of the day. The photo cluster tucked beautifully into the cut file, sitting on top of the words and to the right of the flower heads.
I really LOVE how this page came together, all the pretty, soft colours and patterns, something different to my “norm” and yet still me. You can watch this page come together on my process video, just hit the play button below!
I hope that you have enjoyed this share and that perhaps I have inspired you to step a little out of your own “normal” style. Maybe you can find something in the new releases for this month? Or perhaps there is another cut file that you have that you haven’t been sure just how to use.
Happy scrapping and I’ll see you soon my next share for CUT to YOU! Melinda
Hey and hello CUT to YOU friends!!! Melinda back again today and no, you are not going crazy!! I do indeed have another layout share using the same cut file which also happens to be my page title!!
Again, I’m using the “Hey Bestie” cut file from the store.
If you don’t remember my last page here it is again and I’m using the “left overs” to create this page!
The insides of my letters were too beautiful to ditch so I immediately cut the title once again using textured white cardstock and used some foam tape to pop up all of the pretty letters.
I wanted this page to look and feel different to my last one so straight away decided I was going to use some different supplies; but still Heidi Swapp goodies. This time from the Storyline Chapters collection. And to not use any mixed media!!
I’ve pulled out another of my newly printed photos with one of my other besties and started layering up the photo, cut file and patterned papers.
For some extra detail and texture I have stitched around my photo and my 3 biggest patterned paper layers, bending up the edges of all the papers.
I ended up with a more vertical design on this page and decided to a) use a tag behind my photo to house my journaling and b) work with 3 main embellishments clusters that follow that vertical line down the page.
I cannot express just how much I ADORE that yellow patterned paper in my background so I made sure to bring that to the foreground of my layout also.
My finishing touch was some little black gems that I scattered on a loose diagonal (but almost vertical) from the top left cluster to the bottom right and added in some white glitter enamel hearts.
As always, I have a process video for you, just hit that play button below and I do hope that you enjoy!!
Here is a quick look at my layouts side by side!
If you didn’t know I’d used the same cut file you’d never know!! I just love that about digital cut files!!
When you are shopping take a look and think “how can I use this cut file multiple times/ways” before you purchase. The best thing is, even if can’t come up with anything right now you can cut and use the file as many times as you like after you own it!!!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my share today. Did you notice that this isn’t the only cut file I’ve used more than once??? I hope you have a fab, scrappy day and I’ll see you back here on the blog later this month! Mel x
Hello friends! It’s Shannon up on the blog today bringing you this ever so sad puppy layout featuring the beautiful Sunburst Heart cutfile. I thought that the Pinkfresh “Keeping It Real” collection was the perfect vibe for this tricky day for Blue.
I just had to do some hand sewing on this cutfile! I used a pale pink for the center of the heart and a nice aqua to back stitch around the entire cutfile. I love how it came together. I thought that the layout needed a bit more punch so I backed the bright yellow patterned paper with a gorgeous floral.
I layered embellishments by the same collection, grabbed some very old alphas and included some flair to bring it all together. I do love this one!
Hello Everyone! Sara here with you today sharing my newest project featuring the Dragon Fly cut file!
I have been documenting some of our summer adventues in mini books I made including this one, all about our day at the local botanical gardens. I love to incorporate oversized cut files into my mini books! They are so striking used that way! I added beautiful ink blended wings, and backed the body with black cardstock. I added some clear glossy Nuvo drops as an accent.
I create a stamped background for my dragonfly and embellished with a few fussy cut floral elements to keep the design elegant and simple.
I love this fun, saturated, summery colors and that dragonfly is so striking!
Be sure to head over to the SHOP and check out all the summery cut files! For all the details, you can take a peek at my process video-
Hey hey CTY friends! Happy Birthday month!! I can’t believe CTY is 3!! I’m so lucky to have been a long for the ride for the past 3 years to help watch this little business and our community grow. So epic!
I’m up on the blog today to share a scraplift from our inspirational boss lady @gwenwruck. I have scraplifted a page she did using the Bubbles of Fun Cut File and have kept the structure of the page pretty similar to hers.
I started my page by cutting the Cut File from some patterned paper… I actually flipped the file upside down because I knew I wouldn’t be using the title, and I felt it would fit the layout better.
I added some white gesso to my background before adhering my Cut File directly down. I then followed Gwen’s lead, adding a square photo, layers and flowing clusters down the page.
I even went as far as to use the same title, because how could I not with that photo of my daughter!
Thanks for stopping by again today, it means so much that you support us, and we love sharing with you every week! Make sure you head over to Cut to You HQ and check out all the birthday celebrations!
Hey and hello CUT to YOU family, Melinda here with you to share my latest creation using another beautiful “Gwen” cutfile!!
I’m using the super fun and versatile “Hey Bestie” cut file available here in the store for today’s page.
I recently took advantage of a photo printing special and have a stack of newly printed photos that I couldn’t wait to start scrapping with. Since I recently created a layout with an OLD photo of myself and my bestie I wanted to create a much newer one and thought I would incorporate the cut file with our mutual fave colour, pink!!
For something different I cut my file from some pink pattern paper from the “Classic Heidi Bundle” I picked up recently. I’ve used the paper that is about 2/3 light pink and 1/3 darker pink and love how the cut file has the ombré look to it!!
Side note, the internal letters were SOOOO PRETTY I couldn’t NOT use them so here’s a sneak peek of something coming next month 😉
On with this page!! I backed my cut file with washi tape!!! So fun! I just rolled some tape onto smooth white cardstock, traced my cutfile and then cut out my letters!!
I decided to create my own “die cut ephemera” using a layering stamp set, pink and green/teal inks and matching dies and just love how they turned out!
With lots of layers of pink around and behind my photo I created a mixed media background using BLACK!!! And I just adore how this works! It really makes all the things POP!
I, of course, have a process video for you to see this page come together and I do hope that you enjoy!!
Remember, this month is birthday month for CUT to YOU so make sure you are signed up to all of the things in all of the places so you don’t miss any of the fun celebrations! And Gwen has even put together a bundle of cut files in the store for all of your birthday page needs, with a discount too 😉
I hope you have enjoyed my share today (and my little sneaky peek!!) and I can’t wait to share my next creation with you!! Have a fab scrappy day!! Mel x
