CUT to YOU | Oh So Happy You’re Home | Melinda Sweetman

Hello everyone and welcome to the blog today! Melinda here with you and I’m excited to share my most recent CUT to YOU creation!

I’ve used the sweet “Oh so happy” title cutfile which I have added to create this layout.

I decided to go with the gorgeous Traci Reed Designs “My Person” printable collection for this one as it was new in my craft room and it had the perfect “my best friend has paws” sentiment to go with this page!

I’ve used some different pattern papers from this collection to simply back my cut file today which I then popped up for some dimension.

I love the way my title kind of hugs my photos! To really emphasise both the title and photos on this layout I have added some gold paint strokes along with splatters both behind and around both elements.

A couple of small embellishment clusters and my journalling and my page is done!

I have a process video for you again today showing my process (well, most of it, tech difficulties!!) if you’d like to see this page come together. You can pop over to my YT channel or just hit that play button below!

As I’m writing this blog post my mind is wandering to the beautiful new March designs wondering what I’ll create with next!! Have you checked out the new releases yet???

TBH with you though, I am REALLY heavily leaning towards this beautiful Floral Rainbow cutfile from one of the newer KIT to YOU kits. Have you checked those out yet??? Such A-MAZING value!!!

That’s it for me for today, I really feel the need to get cutting 😉 Stay tuned to see what I use next!
Until then, I hope I have inspired you in some way today to get creative and I hope you have a happy scrappy day!

Happy New Year | Tamara Buckler

Hello my wonderful CTY friends!

I’m up on the blog today sharing another colourful layout, this time I’m featuring the Happy New Year cut file.

I did a bit of work to this file in Silhouette Studio before cutting it out as I didn’t want the rocket element of the cut file. I used the eraser function to ‘rub out’ the portions I didn’t want, and the point tool to tidy things up.

I then added various patterned papers behind my cut file, and then popped the whole thing up on foam. I added some gesso to the centre of my page, letting it dry before adhering my title.

I added lots of embellishments to my page, following the flow of the Cut File, and working within a loose colour on colour theme to tie in with my background.

I love the way this one came together, and I love sharing my work with you guys! Make sure you check out all the fab title files over in the shop that you could use for your next layout!

Big loves, Tam xo

CUT to YOU | Loving the Everyday | Melinda Sweetman

Hey and hello CUT to YOU friends! Melinda here with you and excited to be continuing on as part of the CUT to YOU family! I hope my page inspires you!

As you can see I’ve used a super fun title cut file today – Loving the Everyday.

And welded a second cut file for something fun and a little different! This is one of the cups from the “Coffee Love” cut file.

I actually had one of my boys help me choose which cut file to use for this page, which meant I had to find a photo to work. I couldn’t go past this one of my newly decorated take away coffee cup with the quote “Fuelled by coffee & sarcasm” from July last year.

I’ve pulled out my Heidi Swapp “Storyline Chapters” collection to back my cutfile and create my page. I just loved the colours with my photo!

I have added a few layers behind my photo which I also popped up on some old packaging for dimension.

I added everything on an angle for something a little different and fun and then added my journalling using my typewriter and a label from the cut apart sheet in the collection.

To finish the page off I added a few small stickers and some gold splatters.

A pretty “simple” page for me but I really LOVE how it worked in the end! I especially love the addition of welding that coffee cup to my title cut file to make it a little more unique! You can see my process over on my YT channel or on the link below, just hit that play button!

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope that I have inspired you in some way to create something about YOU! Make sure you check out the shop for all of the beautiful “love” themed cut files, there are so so so many to choose from now and perhaps even the perfect one to scrap your favourite thing!!
Until next time,
Melinda

Hello World | Airport Background Digital Cut File | Crystal Barrett

Hello CUT TO YOU friends,

I am Crystal Barrett AKA Pineapple Papers and I am so excited to be sharing my first design team project with you today! I am working with the Airport Background Digital Cut file.

Airport Travel SVG design for Cricut and Silhouette machines. Cute SVG cut file for Scrapbooking and Vinyl DIY crafts.

I chose to do 3 different techniques with the airplanes. First I painted the insides of the cut file with sliver bells Shimmerz paint.

Then I backed 3 of the airplanes with vellum.

The last 3 airplanes I handstitched with 2 strands of white embroidery floss.

I finished embellishing the layout with items from my stash. I would love for you to join me over on YouTube for the entire process video. https://youtu.be/I-v7i4Htm-A

Happiness Is A Good Book|Sara Scraps

Hello Everyone! Sara with you today. I wanted to share with you my Books of 2021 Life Crafted album..more specifically. how you can incorporate cut files into your smaller projects! I have used the Book Happiness cut file in my small album

I backed my cut file with lots of fun floral papers. Once it was backed, I added some Glossy Accents to a few areas. This provides some dimension, shine, and sheen. I just love how the cut file looks and all the extra detail it gives my spread.

I kept the rest of spread came together quick and easily. I added some fussy cut florals, patterns , and sequins to finish of my spread.

I hope my spread today has inspired you to play with size and add cut files to your smaller projects like mini albums, traveler’s notebooks, and card. Visit the shop HERE . Which cut file would you choose to cut small?

Have A Lovely Day!

CUT to YOU | A Year to Remember cut file | 2021 | Melinda Sweetman

Hey and hello my fellow paper and cut file lovers, it’s great to have you back here with me again today!!
Melinda with you with my next creation for CUT to YOU and I have a kind of double pager to share with you!

I’ve used 2 cut files for this one, so I’ll start with the “A Year to Remember” cut file which I cut to about 11 1/2″ tall. Which convieniently “fits” a 9″ x 12″ page protector.

The second cut file is the brand new “12 Month Planner” cut file which, again, I have cut quiet big, almost 11″ from memory. I will note here that I did manipulate the cut file a little so I ended up with square “planner pages” to fill with photos. Super easy to do and if you have any questions let me know!

If you like watching a page come together I, of course, have a process video for you which you can either watch below or head on over to my YT channel here!

I knew I wanted to use the Jen Hadfield “Reaching Out” collection for this and also that I wanted a “specialty” see-through paper for my title to sit on. I, of course, chose this gorgeous metallic rainbow vellum print (I think it’s from a Maggie Holmes collection) and then cut the title twice.

My first cut was textured white cardstock, super easy! The second cut I flipped so the words were backwards and then cut that (exactly the same size) from one of my favourite pattern papers from the collection to go on the back of the vellum. Using the 6×8 paper pad I backed all of the letters in my title in a different pattern each.

For this page I added a couple of small embellishments after sticking both of the cut files. The white cardstock to the front and the pattern paper to the back.

This bit was hard!! But I managed to choose 1 photo from each month of 2021 as a highlight photo and printed those to fit the 12 squares for the “12 Month Planner” cut file. After a little fussing and a couple of “oh no! that’s the wrong month” comments I got all my photos in place.

I backed each of the top part of the planner pages with pattern papers. This time I chose 6 papers and did 2 of each. This is where I’m going to add my journalling. Just a quick sentance/few words about each photo.

This was then popped up and adhered to my background where I added in the 12 months using Pink Fresh Studio tiny colourful puffy alphas and 3 small embellishments clusters.

Some gold splatters to all of my clusters and voila!! A year to remember documented!!
I have my process (unfortunately not ALL of it!) recoreded and you can watch that on my YT channel or just hit that play button below!

Have you seen all of the fun and inspiring new cut files for a new year in the store? You simply must check them out whether for a year in review page or a year in preview page!!

I hope that you have enjoyed this share today and I can’t wait to see how you use some of these amazing January cut files!!

Happy scrapping!

CUT to YOU | Filagree Butterfly cut file | Hello Sweet Girl | Melinda Sweetman

Hey and hello CUT to YOU friends!! Melinda here with you with my very first share for 2022.

Today’s layout is a little ‘different’ shall we say?! Yep, my actual page is butterfly shaped and will go into my album as is without a page protector. The gorgeous butterfly “shape” is the stunning “Filigree Butterfly” cutfile available here in the store.

This page actually came together with the “left overs” of a previous layout I created. The inside pieces (silver cardstock) is what I had left over. I cut a second butterfly using black cardstock and then stuck the actual black cut file to some black paper and then paper pieced all of the silver pieces back in and oh boy, I just ADORE how this looks!!

I’ve pulled out my “Classic Heidi” collection by Heidi Swapp and started by choosing a paper to showcase on the back of the cutfile – essentially my background pattern paper.

I added a few layers of pretty things including a doily from my stash, some alphas, some embossing and some chipboard pieces making sure everything was EXTRA stuck down knowing this is not going into a page protector.

I did record my process for you and can watch that over on my YT channel or just hit that play button below!!

I hope that you have enjoyed my share today and that I have perhaps inspired you to create an out of the page protector/uniquely shaped layout/page to include in your own scrappy albums!! There are so, so many amazing designs in the store you could choose from and I, personally, would recommend starting in the “Florals & Nature” category!!

Happy scrapping, until next time!

25 Days of Christmas | Fast, Fun and Festive Scrapbook Ideas | Day 21

Hey & hello CUT to YOU friends!! Melinda here with you today for day 21 of our 25 days of Christmas and I hope that you have been loving all the inspiration around here as much as I have!! Also, with only 4 short sleeps until the big day I hope you are ENJOYING this time of year, whatever you are doing!!

Like I said, I’m here sharing for day 21 and here is my layout.

For this one I chose the super fun “Christmas Banner” cut file. I LOVE this cut file. Seriously LOVE, however, I had a really hard time trying to work out just how I wanted to incorporate it into a layout before I created this page. But I super love my page and am glad that I waited for the “right” page to create!!

One thing that REALLY helped me with this page was selecting a collection to work with before I did anything further than cut my cut file. I’ve chosen the Cocoa Vanilla Studio “Merry & Bright” collection from 2020, pulled out the A5 paper stack, popped on a fave Christmas movie and got to tracing, cutting and sticking. Before I knew it, I had a completely backed cut file to work with and a collection to embellish with!!

Photo choice was next and I found this photo of my boys from Christmas 2018 with Santa and I really LOVED how the bold colours in the photos contrasted with the colours in the CVS collection.

With all of my elements now chosen the page kinda just fell together from here. I did add some gold machine stitching along the “string” parts of the banner and around the photo which of course meant I had to finish the page with some gold splatter!!

Working with a biggish cut file like this can make the process super quick after you’ve backed the cut file. And it’s so easy to pick up the cut file and sneak in 5 minutes here or there when you’re busy to back the cut file too!!

I hope you have enjoyed my share today and if you’d like to see my page come together just hit that play button below or head on over to my YT channel!!

25 Days of Christmas | Fast, Fun and Festive Scrapbook Ideas | Day 10

Hello CUT to YOU and Christmas fans!! Melinda here with you for day 10 of the CUT to YOU 25 Days of Christmas!
Each day this month right up to (and including) Christmas Day you’ll want to check back here for all the fun things we are sharing and, I for one, have had so much fun creating to help inspire YOU to create fun and festive layouts!!
Enough chit chat, here’s my layout for you for today!!

And I chose the gorgeous “Poinsetta Wreath” cut file to work with today. I love poinsettia’s so this cut file is just darling!!

I am playing with the Simple Stories “Vintage North Pole” collection – I CANNOT resist a vintage Santa – and have very simply backed my cut file using the 6×8 paper pad using traditional poinsettia colours.

Just to shake things up a little – I don’t love the traditional green & red Christmas combo – I decided to use some pink cardstock for my background with a dark green pattern paper to edge the entire page. This particular pink shade is super hard to photograph “correctly” but the image below is the best match to real life 😉

Most of the “work” for this page was the backing of the cut file which felt like it took no time when I popped on a fave Christmas movie and got to tracing, cutting and sticking!

I chose an OLD photo of myself and my little brother from 1985 with Santa and kept the whole page pretty simple but LOVE how my cut file and photo just POP off that background!

Finally, a process video for you to watch my page come together if that kind of thing is your jam! Hit that play button below and I hope that you enjoy!!
