Chase that Dream | Tamara Buckler

Hi there folks,

I’m up on the blog again today sharing another fun, bright and sunshiny layout. I love the combo of baby blue and yellow, and combined with those daisies, this page take me straight back to being a teenager in the 90’s!

I have used the Chase that Dream cut file to document my daughter working hard to reach hers. I backed the cut file with a single piece of the daisy patterned and popped it up on foam tape.

I placed the file to the bottom right of the page and tucked my photos under the top left. By doing this, it set up the page to have a diagonal flow, so I focussed my embellishments to the top left and bottom right.

I love how sweet this file looks with this patterned paper. It’s so fun and youthful! I also love that big cut file titles like this one makes it really easy to create a feature on our pages, it does so much of the work for us!!

Thanks again for stopping by. Make sure you pop by the Cut to You HQ so you get the heads up on all the new releases that come out almost every month!

Totally Awesome Wow! | Tamara Buckler

Hello CTY friends,

So happy to be back with you again to share another fun layout featuring another fun cut file! For this layout I have used the Floral Camera file, which I have kept quite small, and have cut from white card stock.

I really wanted the cut file to be the focal point of my layout, particularly as I wanted to add my photo inside the lens of the camera. So I started there, popping in my photo amd then backing the file, and then working my way outwards.

I love how all the layers direct your eye toward the cut file, and even though there are a lot of colours and patterns, that this remains the focus. I thinking cutting it out in white, and adding dimensional foam underneath, also helps with this. As does using minimal embellishing.

There are quite a few similar camera cut files in the shop, and you can actually pick them up in a bundle set, which is great value for money!

Thanks for stopping by again today.

A Year to Remember | Tamara Buckler

Hello CTY peeps,

Thanks for joining me on the blog again today. I’m sharing with you a new layout featuring the ‘A Year to Remember’ cut file. I’m documenting my vaccination story with this page, and have used a cheeky little mask emoji Charm to help tell my story.

To fit the emoji on the page, I carefully cut the love heart away from the letters around it. I then backed the cut file with a single piece of patterned paper and popped the whole thing up on foam.

I adhered the cut file down the left hand side of a sheet of black cardtock. I love the contrast this gives with the bright title, really makes it pop. I then really focussed on tucking my photo and embellishments around the right edge of the cut file and page.

Once I had done all that, I added some stamping and splatters. Once this was all done, I felt like the cut file was getting a bit lost, so I added some doodling around the edges for a bit of extra something something. I really love how this came together!

Thanks again for stopping by 😊

Big loves, Tam xo

Not This Time! | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! For my latest layout I’m using the ‘Stars Squared’ cut file that can be found in the shop here. I had a cute photo of my nephew that I wanted to use so matched it up with some bright papers from the Simple Stories ‘Homegrown’ collection.

I started by flicking lots of paint splatters onto my white cardstock background making sure they were in the general shape of the cut file. Once it was dry I trimmed two sides of the white cardstock and added a red patterned paper border

Then I backed the cut file with a mix of the bright patterned papers in red, green, blue and yellow.

Before sticking down the cut file I stuck my square photo directly to the white cardstock background.

Then I attached the cut file raising it using sticky foam pads.

I decided it didn’t really need too many embellishments as didn’t want to cover up the cut file too much so just used some Bramble Fox Perspextive stars and Doodlebug Enamel stars from my stash.

I finished off with a title and some journaling.

Forever | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! For my latest layout I am using an older cut file from the shop called ‘Hearts in a Jar’ that can be found here. I had some of the vintagey Simple Stories ‘Simple Vintage Weathered Garden’ collection which is not my usual style but something drew me to it and I thought it would be perfect for this layout!

I backed the hearts, the lid and base of the jar with a mix of patterned papers and then backed the jar itself with some vellum so that it still had a see through feel.

For my background I added a strip of gingham patterned paper to the top and bottom of the layout, distressing the edges for some extra texture. The ‘Hearts in a Jar’ cut file was stuck down to the right of the layout, and then I added my square photo so that it just overlapped the left edge of the cut file.

I added ephemera, chipboard stickers and enamel dots from the Simple Stories ‘Simple Vintage Weathered Garden’ collection around the cut file and photo. I also added a few Bramble Fox heart Perspextives and then used the large chipboard sticker word ‘Forever’ as my title and a small ephemera tag for my journaling.

To finish off I added a small cluster to the top left of the layout just to balance out the larger detail below it.

December Album | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! It’s Kirei here with a set of three mini layouts to go in my December Album. I used three different cut files from the Christmas ShopHolly Baubles, Whimsy Woodland and Christmas Stocking. Each mini layout measures 6″ x 8″ and I am using the festive Simple Stories ‘Holly Days’ and ‘Make it Merry’ collections.

For my first layout I used the Holly Baubles cut file that you can find here in the shop. As these layouts are going into an album that needs to hold thirty one layouts I need to be careful with how dimensional they are so I backed my cut file using some vellum and patterned papers (without using sticky foam). These were stuck down directly to the patterned paper background. I then added my photos, again mounted directly onto the layout. This was a pretty simple page so all I had left to do was add some journaling stickers and then my date number circle.

For my second mini layout I went for the Whimsy Woodland tree cut file that you can find in the shop here. It was perfect with my photos of our decorated tree at home! For this one I backed it with firstly with vellum and then patterned paper behind that as I didn’t want the patterned paper to overwhelm the page as it was already quite busy with the patterned paper background and two photos.

For my final page I used the Christmas Stocking cut file that you can find in the shop here. I backed it with a mix of patterned papers and stuck it flat to the patterned paper background. I went with a larger photo this time, added some stickers popping out of the top of the stocking, my journaling and of course the date number circle. Only 28 more pages to be done!

Autumn Walks | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! Kirei here with my latest layout using the new Autumn Acorns cut file which you can find here in the shop. It is just perfect for my photo of us out on our regular walks around our local area during Autumn, love the trees changing colour!

I cut the Autumn Acorn cut file quite large as I wanted to make it a feature on my layout.

I backed all of of the cut file with patterned paper raised on sticky foam pads. But then wanted to really emphasise the acorns so filled the inner with lots of tiny gold star sequins and gold flat backed pearls. Love the sparkle it adds!

For my background I trimmed down a sheet of white cardstock, distressed the edges and stuck to a dark green patterned paper frame. Then I added a few stitches around each edge.

I sprayed a fine rose gold mist over the background so that it wasn’t too white on white.

From here it was pretty quick…. mounted my photo on a couple of coordinating patterned papers then stuck down with a couple of tags popping out of the top.

I added just a few leaf embellishments from Paige Evans Bungalow Lane collection, it didn’t really need much more as the cut file was like one large embellishment!

Then I finished off with my title and journaling.

HELLO NYC | CIRCLE GARLAND CUT FILE | NENASCRAP

Hi CUT TO YOU friends,

It’s NenaScrap back with you today to share a new fall layout featuring the fabulous Circle Garland Cut File.

I cut the cut file twice with my Silhouette Cameo : once in white cardstock and a second time in printed paper, keeping only the outer edges. This way I was able to back my cut file very easily by superimposing the 2 cuttings. I love the it looks !!!

I used the pretty fall collections Bungalow Lane by Paige Evans and Peaceful Heart by Jen Hadfield.
I cut a circle in the center of the Bungalow Lane #12 printed paper. I used my cut file as a template for this.

I glued a white cardstock behind my printed paper which forms with the Circle Garland cut file like a frame on the white background. I glued my cut file with 3D foam squares to add volume.

The cut file being in 2 parts, I hid the gap between the 2 with my photo on the right and my embellishment cluster on the left. This gives the effect of a wreath of leaves.

I used Bungalow Lane die-cuts and epoxy stickers as embellishments. I love the beautiful fall colors in this collection, which goes perfectly with the Circle Garland cut file and the photo of my kids during our trip to NYC in 2014.

You can find the video process of this layout on my YouTube channel :

I hope you like this layout and that it inspires you.
Thank you for stopping by.

Have a happy crafty day.

Hugs & Kisses from France.

Hi CUT to YOU fans! Kirei here with a new layout using this fab Beaded Circle cut file which you can find here in the shop. I wanted to use it as a central focus and then add my clusters to the top and bottom so you can still see the pretty cut file.

I teamed the cut file up with the lovely Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘These Days’ collection which was just perfect with my photos and the message I wanted to say.

I coloured the Beaded Circle cut file using Distress Oxides blending them in one to the other. Once I was happy I then painted over it with a super sparkly clear ink which doesn’t show up that well in the photos but it has the prettiest glittery look to it!

I added two small square photos to the top left that I had mounted onto white tissue paper which just added a soft layer between the photo and background.

Then I built up a cluster around the photos using the coordinating ephemera, puffy stickers and gold glitter hearts. I added some matching sequins from my stash to add more sparkle!

Then I created another cluster to the bottom with the matching embellishments and a title using the foam title stickers.

Get Your Witchy On | Halloween 2 cut file | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends,

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing……..yes another spooky Halloween layout! I chose to cut out the Halloween 2 cut file from one of the plain patterned papers in the Crate Paper Hey Pumpkin paper pad. I then adhered the cut file using my trusty Nuvo glue on to the orange spotted paper, I love the contrast of the white against the orange. Very effective. I trimmed the orange patterned paper down slightly on one side and the top and adhered it to the black cardstock.

Halloween 2 cut file

You can see in the photo above that I didn’t adhere the web cut file down completely, how you can tell is the shadow that you can see where the cut file lifts up off the page slightly. I love dimension and shadows on a layout! Don’t you?! I decided to place my photo on the right portion of the page and placing my embellishments and title in a horizontal design across the page.

The Halloween 2 cut file was perfect to go with my photo as the photo is of me with a Halloween Snapchat filter, aren’t those web eyes cool?! I pulled out a few bits and pieces from a few different Halloween collections including some chipboard, stickers and ephemera. I wanted to keep most of the outside of the web cut file free of embellishments, choosing to only add the 31 chipboard piece at the top and some sprinkles of black mist. I also stamped the date stamp and freehand drew a black outline around the outside of the layout using a black pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today! I hope you enjoyed my layout as much as I enjoyed creating it?! Check out all the Halloween cut files in the CUT to YOU store, I am certain there is something there for your next Halloween project!

Happy creating!
