Hey Bestie | Tamara Buckler

Hello lovely peeps,

I’m up on the blog today sharing my latest layout using the ‘Hey Bestie’ Title Cut File that is new to the the shop.

I started this page by cutting the file nice and large from white card stock, and then backed the file with some patterned paper in the blues, purples and teals. I have used different papers behind each of the letters, but by staying in the same colour family have kept it cohesive.

I added some acrylic paints to my background in the area behind the file, and popped it up on some foam. This was a great way to keep it a feature and seperate it from the background.

I tucked my photo in beside the title and clustered my florals around the photo and title.

You can see in the below photo that I have damaged my file a little bit below the heart… I have been using a new glue and I think it’s too wet, so time for a new glue I think! I don’t mind too much about the wonky bits on the file, but I do know it would bother some peeps.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, make sure you pop over to the shop and check out the new releases!

Big Loves, Tam xo

Hi CUT to YOU fans! We have a celebration this month as it’s CUT to YOU’s 3rd birthday! Woo hoo! Happy Birthday! To celebrate each of the Design Team are scraplifting one of Gwen’s past layouts…. I chose one she did back in March 2020 which you can find here, and I followed the design of the layout by using a large cutfile to the left of the photo.

I chose the fun Tropical Punch cut file which can be found here in the shop as it was perfect to go with my photo of a past holiday back in 2019 to St. Lucia in the Caribbean.

I decided to back the cut file using different patterned papers from the lovely Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘Sunkissed’ collection. The different pieces were all raised on foam pads to add dimension.

Once I placed the cut file on my white cardstock background I realised it needed something more behind it to ground it and help it stand out more. So I added a smooshy teal background using the packaging technique and some lovely shimmery watercolour paints from my stash. Then I finished off with lots of splatters… and once dry, I stitched it using gold thread to a frame of yellow cardstock.

I tucked my photo, which was mounted on one of the patterned papers from the collection in just behind the bottom right flower on the cut file.

I picked out some of the fun coordinating ephemera, clear stickers and gold hearts from and created two embellishment clusters to the bottom left of the cut file and bottom right of my photo. Because I wanted some of the clear stickers to be stuck over some of my photo and the cut file I stuck them onto white cardstock first and then fussy cut around them. This helps them stand out more an allows you to layer them.

Then I finished off with a title using two different Thickers alphas from my stash and of course added some journaling below my photo.

Hey hey CTY friends! Happy Birthday month!! I can’t believe CTY is 3!! I’m so lucky to have been a long for the ride for the past 3 years to help watch this little business and our community grow. So epic!

I’m up on the blog today to share a scraplift from our inspirational boss lady @gwenwruck. I have scraplifted a page she did using the Bubbles of Fun Cut File and have kept the structure of the page pretty similar to hers.

I started my page by cutting the Cut File from some patterned paper… I actually flipped the file upside down because I knew I wouldn’t be using the title, and I felt it would fit the layout better.

I added some white gesso to my background before adhering my Cut File directly down. I then followed Gwen’s lead, adding a square photo, layers and flowing clusters down the page.

I even went as far as to use the same title, because how could I not with that photo of my daughter!

Thanks for stopping by again today, it means so much that you support us, and we love sharing with you every week! Make sure you head over to Cut to You HQ and check out all the birthday celebrations!

CUT to YOU | “Hey Bestie” | Melinda Sweetman

Hey and hello CUT to YOU family, Melinda here with you to share my latest creation using another beautiful “Gwen” cutfile!!

I’m using the super fun and versatile “Hey Bestie” cut file available here in the store for today’s page.

I recently took advantage of a photo printing special and have a stack of newly printed photos that I couldn’t wait to start scrapping with. Since I recently created a layout with an OLD photo of myself and my bestie I wanted to create a much newer one and thought I would incorporate the cut file with our mutual fave colour, pink!!

For something different I cut my file from some pink pattern paper from the “Classic Heidi Bundle” I picked up recently. I’ve used the paper that is about 2/3 light pink and 1/3 darker pink and love how the cut file has the ombré look to it!!

Side note, the internal letters were SOOOO PRETTY I couldn’t NOT use them so here’s a sneak peek of something coming next month 😉

On with this page!! I backed my cut file with washi tape!!! So fun! I just rolled some tape onto smooth white cardstock, traced my cutfile and then cut out my letters!!

I decided to create my own “die cut ephemera” using a layering stamp set, pink and green/teal inks and matching dies and just love how they turned out!

With lots of layers of pink around and behind my photo I created a mixed media background using BLACK!!! And I just adore how this works! It really makes all the things POP!

I, of course, have a process video for you to see this page come together and I do hope that you enjoy!!

Remember, this month is birthday month for CUT to YOU so make sure you are signed up to all of the things in all of the places so you don’t miss any of the fun celebrations! And Gwen has even put together a bundle of cut files in the store for all of your birthday page needs, with a discount too 😉

I hope you have enjoyed my share today (and my little sneaky peek!!) and I can’t wait to share my next creation with you!! Have a fab scrappy day!!

Create | Ali Skifton

Hi CTY friends!

It is Ali here with you today sharing a fun layout dedicated to our wonderful hobby, Scrapbooking. Gwen has created a few cut files dedicated to our hobby. I fell in love with the Create Title cut file and just had a blast making this layout. I wanted something special to document the layouts I had published in the Scrapbooking & Cards Today magazine and this cut file was perfect to document this dream come true.

I was so excited to use the new craft line from Doodlebug Design and backed each word with a different patterned paper. I knew I wanted to have some fun with those cute hearts and decided to make them into shakers. I put a layer of acetate on the back of the hearts and used three layers of foam tape to outline each heart. I then filled the hearts with different colored bling from PinkFresh studios and sealed it with another heart that I cut out of vellum.

I used more foam tape on the back of the cut file to give it some dimension and added it to the white cardstock.  I embellished with a few heart flairs from Scrappin Happy Studio on top of the hearts on the cut file.  I have so much love for our hobby and I hope it shows with this layout!

I taped the white piece onto a rainbow sheet and then decorated the rest of the layout with some Doodle Pops.

I hope you enjoy this layout as much as I do.  Happy Creating!

Love, Ali xoxo

The Good List | The Good List Cut File | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends! I am back with another Design Team project celebrating all things Christmas in July. I knew that The Good List Cut File would be perfect for documenting this hilarious sequence of photos featuring my cheeky boy.

If you want to see the step by step process of how I created this layout, I would love for you to go ahead and check out my process video.

Here are a few more close up images of the finished layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Some Bunny Special | Kelly Pyron

Hello Friends! I am sharing my final layout as a DT member. I have had so much fun working with the Cut To You cut files and getting to know so many awesome people and fellow designers. It has been a great experience and one I will cherish. .

For my final layout I chose to use the You are Some Bunny Special title cut file. We have Christmas in July… why not Easter in July, right? 😀

I had these adorable photos of my grand love wearing her bunny ears and knew this was the perfect title for this layout!

I wanted the title to take center stage, so I decided to keep the embellishments minimal. Since the title piece is central to the design, I wanted to really make it pop. I cut the file on white textured cardstock and kept the outline white. I used some Nuvo glitter embossing powder and my heat tool on the letters to really make them stand out and sparkle!

The paper and embellishments all came from Echo Parks, “Hello Easter” collection. I popped up a few of the sticker elements with dimensional foam adhesive. I also added a couple of small flowers in my embellishment groupings for a different texture and added interest.

This was such a fun layout to put together and I always love using Gwen’s cut file titles in my layouts because it takes out most of the design guess-work, which makes for a really quick and easy page. If you are busy like me, that is a win-win!

Once again, it has been a pleasure being on the design team. I am honored to have had the opportunity!

Blessings and best wishes,

Good Times | Daisy Bough Cutfile | Simple Stories “Sunkissed”

Hello friends! It’s Shannon up on the blog today bringing you this fun and bright layout that is also a scraplift of a gorgeous layout by our fearless leader, Gwen. I went after her signature style of a white background, bright pops of color and stitching around the border. I love that this Daisy Bough cutfile has a curve to nestle your photo right into.

You can see that I chose not to fully tack down the cutfile as I do so love the bit of dimension that you get from the shadow. I chose to use a black and white photo so that the Simple Stories “Sunkissed” collection would pop right off the page.

And here is the gorgeous layout that Gwen created:

Happy Scrapping!

Artist @ Work | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! Kirei here with my first layout for the month and I am using an older cut file called ‘Office Clips’ which can be found here in the shop. I thought the three clipboards would make great shaker pockets as well as being the perfect base for my photos, this way it looks like the photos are clipped to the clipboards.

I decided that the fab Vicki Boutin ‘Colour Study’ collection was perfect for this layout as my photos feature my husband’s godson Oscar painting his ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ figures and the collection has a real arty, crafty feel to it!

Firstly I cut the three ‘Office Clips’ cut files from white cardstock making sure they were big enough so there was enough room to see the shaker elements once the photo was attached to each one. Then I backed each of the clipboard sections on each cut file with some clear acetate before backing the clips with a dark patterned paper to mimic those black bulldog clips that you get from the office. I cut the backing for the clipboards from a striped paper and a lime green grid design paper. Then I added foam pads to the back of each clipboard section to create a wall so that the shaker elements won’t fall out. I filled the first shaker with tiny star sequins and stuck one of the striped papers to the back.

I filled the second one with larger rubber stars and tiny star sequins and backed it with the lime green grid design paper

For the final one I stuck tiny black word stickers and puffy stars all over the backing to look like they were shaker pieces and then added the final piece of striped paper to the back…. shaker pockets complete!

I cut a piece of the spotty patterned paper to 11 1/2″ square, distressed the edges and then stuck it to a frame of the lime green grid design patterned paper (after gutting the middle from it). I added wavy, random lines of black stitching all around the edges.

I stuck each of the ‘Office Clips’ cut files down but left room for me to be able to tuck ephemera under the edges if I wanted to. I mounted my small photos onto different patterned papers and added black stitching around the edge of each one. Then I added one photo to each of the clipboard shakers.

Then I pulled out the coordinating embellishments (stickers, ephemera, puffy stickers) and added those around each photo and a couple of larger ephemera pieces were tucked under the first two clipboards.

I added my title ‘Artist @ Work’ using the matching ‘Color Study’ alpha (the @ was from another alpha in my stash). I decided I needed to add something else under the title so picked out a few more ephemera pieces which worked to direct the eye to the right side of the layout.

Thanks for stopping by, hope it has inspired you to try making a shaker pocket with one of the cut files next time! Do pop on over to the CUT to YOU shop to check out the latest cut file release and if you haven’t already make sure you sign up to the newsletter here to be sure you don’t miss out on a fab free cut file each month!

Fun+Sun|Sara Scraps

Good Morning! Sara with you today! This week I’m scraplifting our amazing owner-Gwen! I used the brand new awesome cut file Fun+Sun in the SHOP.

I kept this layout simple- just backed the cut file with some of my favorite patterned paper and popped it up with some foam tape.

I took my time and enjoyed my products, creating clusters around the cut file to document my son, who is growing up WAY too fast!

You can see all the details of my layout as well as the layout I scraplifted in my You Tube video!

Have A Lovely Day!
