CUT to YOU | Floral Banner 3 Cut File | This Face! | Melinda Sweetman

July is here which means it is time to celebrate!! Yep, it’s CUT to YOU’s birthday month which means lots of fun inspiration for you and each of us DT members have been given instructions to scrap lift the boss! Here is the page that I created and I just LOVE how it turned out!

Here is the Boss Lady’s original page that I lifted.

Pretty close, yeah?! AND I was able to totally make my page more ME!!!
Did you notice that in Gwen’s original design there is NO cut file?!? Well, I can’t scrap lift the boss for birthday month without using a cut file so I chose this gorgeous Floral Banner #3 (yep, I’ve used it before!!) to replicate the horizontal lines in Gwen’s orginal page.

The other very obvious (to me at least!!) thing on Gwen’s page that I wanted to include on mine was the almost vertical design with the florals and the photo. I have manipulated the Floral Banner #3 cutfile in the Silhouette software to replicate and re-size just the florals and then cut those on white cardstock as well.

I chose the Cocoa Vanilla Studio “Unforgettable” collection for this page. I thought that it would compliment the photo’s I’m scrapbooking perfectly and I couldn’t have been more right!! I love it!!

I’ve backed the cut files using the 6×8 Paper Stack. And then in true Gwen style I have created cascading clusters both above and below the photos. Even chopping off parts of the extra florals to then tuck in else where!

Gwen also used a couple of butterflies on her layout so I knew that I simply HAD to incorporate a couple into mine! There were 2 left in the ephemera pack and they worked beautifully, one on either side of the photos!

In order to take this page from “Gwen” to “Melinda” I added some messy thread behind the 2 butterlies and finished off with some Rose Gold splatters to tie in the Thickers I used to build my title. Definately a “Melinda” page but I think I totally nailed the “scraplift the Boss Lady” brief! What do you think??

I’ll leave you with my scrapbook process video below AND make sure you are a member of the CUT to YOU HQ group on FB – you really don’t want to miss any of the fun for birthday month!!

I hope that you have enjoyed my share today and that you are thoroughly enjoying all of the extra inspiriation we have for you this month! Until next time, happy scrapping!

CUT to YOU | You Make My Heart Sing | Heart of Flowers Cut File

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. It’s July and it means that CUT to YOU is celebrating its 3rd birthday! Hip-Hip-Hooray! 🙂 I am so happy to be part of this celebration by scraplifting one of Gwen Wruck’s layouts. Gwen is the dreamer and founder of CUT to YOU, whose cut files you can use for any project, they are so versatile and easy to use.

For the scraplift I chose a layout from Gwen’s You Tube channel, she is doing such an amazing job there too! For example she is making some stash busting videos, in this one she uses the Marigold collection of Maggie Holmes. I really love the colours on this layout, the soft light blue background paired with the darker green shades of the bows – it is beyond gorgeous. Her signature stitching on the photo and on the edges give the whole layout a special final touch. You can find the Delightful Day layout on her Instagram as well, and the processing video on her YT channel.

And here is my scraplift:

For the layouts we used the Heart of Flowers cut file:

First I’ve chosen a photo of my daughter on a photo seccion 4 years ago. She enjoyed the shooting so much, we got awesome photos, like this one. I used 4″x6″ photom just like Gwen, which was a little unusal for me because I like to use 3″x4″ photos on my layouts.

As the photo has some softer shades I wanted to reflect on that on my layout. I decided to use a darker background and replaced the bows with light coloured butterflies.

For the layout I used the More Than Words collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio, the background paper is the Collage paper. I backed the cut file with some pieces of the Effervescent paper, it has beautiful shades of many different colours. I chose blue for the leaves and blush/yellow/orange for the flowers.

I matted my photo with some patterned papers, and started to arrange my layout. I put the photo on the right because she is turning on the photo to the left.

I fussy cut some butterflies from Gossamer paper, and added them to my layout. For my title I used a chipboard of the More Than Words collection, and put it down in the middle where the two strings meet.

I also added some cut outs, phrase stickers and a chipboard element to decorate the page, and as my journalling. For the final touches I added some enamel dots and hearts.

I really love how this layout turned out – thanks Gwen for the inspiration!
I hope you like it too! If so, go to the CUT to YOU shop and grab some new cut files and get creative this weekend! 😉

Magic | Spring Floral Banners | Tarrah McLean

Hi CUT to YOU friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am SO excited to be sharing a scraplift of one of the boss lady – Gwen’s gorgeous layouts as part of the 3rd birthday celebrations this month! Happy birthday CUT to YOU! The layout directly below is my interpretation of Gwen’s gorgeous layout!

The Spring Floral Banners cut file is the cut file design we both used on our pages!

This is Gwen’s gorgeous layout that inspired me featuring the Spring Floral Banners cut file, you can see that I was inspired by the cut file and how Gwen added 2 photos on her page.

I cut the cut file design from white cardstock as I mostly do and then went ahead and backed all the florals and banner sections with different patterned papers from the Crate Paper/Maggie Holmes Willow Lane collection. Once the cut file was all backed, I adhered it to my chosen background paper with craft foam to pop it up off the page and create some dimension and shadows. I then trimmed down this background paper so that I could add a border paper. I only had one sheet of the outside border paper left and as I wanted to add this to one of the banners, I improvised and gutted the middle of the paper, no one would ever know! I love all the gorgeous colours that are in the cut file.

I then placed my 2 photos similar to how Gwen had placed her photos. My youngest niece turned 4 a few weeks ago and she is a crazy horse and unicorn fan!! My sister got her a horse ride for her birthday and she was OVER the MOON!!! She absolutely LOVED it! The photos show you just how much she loved it! I found the unicorn chipboard piece and added it to the photo on the right to make it look like Olivia was riding the unicorn instead of the horse! Super cute right?!

I added my title ‘Magic’ in a similar place to Gwen, as I only had one word instead of 2 like Gwen, I made it work. I added embellishments like chipboard, ephemera, clear stickers and phrase stickers to help enhance the cut file design, to help tell the story and to also balance the entire page. You will notice that I have created some visual triangles with colours on the layout, this definitely helps to make a layout pleasing to look at. I stamped the date stamp on a journalling sticker and called my layout finished. I LOVE how it turned out. Thank you so much Gwen for the gorgeous inspiration layout and for the push to scrap lift one of your beautiful pages!

Thank you so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today! I hope you liked how I scrap lifted Gwen’s layout as much as I enjoyed creating it? Make sure to check out the AMAZING cut file designs in the CUT to YOU store!

Happy birthday CUT to YOU and happy creating!

Summer Vibes | Scraplift | Shannon Allor

Hello friends! How awesome that we are celebrating the fab Gwen today with a YouTube hop and I get the honor of scraplifting her! Andddddd…..my assignment was summer so I just had to use this gorgeous “Summer Vibes” cutfile! I just had to use the gorgeous Simple Stories “Sunkissed” Collection to showcase this photo of my pup who wasn’t entirely sure about his new pool.

Look at how clean this cutfile cut! It was ever so easy to back and the patterned papers pop so well!

I finished off this sunny layout with some acrylic flair from Scrappin’ Happy Studio, some of the Simple Stories foam pieces and diecuts.
