Together | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! Kirei here with a layout inspired by love (seeing as it was Valentine’s Day this month) and there are plenty of cut files in the shop to choose from that would work, and as I do really like a wreath design I just had to go with the ‘Circle of Love’ cut file that you can find here.

Now this month we were all provided with a fab new product from Spiegelmom Scraps called Fab Foils to use on our cut files! I had the gold foils to use which were perfect for my love theme and they went beautifully with the Heidi Swapp ‘Storyline’ papers I was using.

You get three foils (6″ x 12″) in a pack and I used two of them to stick onto a sheet of white cardstock that I put through my Silhouette which cut the cut file beautifully! If you want to see more on how to use them, Sara has a video on her YouTube channel taking you through the process.

Once the cut file was cut I decided to back all of the hearts with different patterned papers that were all in similar peach/pink tones. I was going to leave the centre and not back it but I loved how the black and white dots contrasted so had to use it too!

For my background I cut a piece of white cardstock to 11 1/2″ square, distressed the edges and stuck to a frame of coordinating patterned paper. To finish off I stitched a border around the edge in gold thread to add some texture.

My photo was layered up with five small pieces of the patterned papers with all edges distressed. I stuck two tags behind the photo and used some gold thread to loop around the holes a number of times… I can’t add a tag without something through the hole!

This was stuck down on the left side of the layout over the cut file. I then added some additional embellishments to the left and right of the photo, and tucked in some pieces of gold thread on either side to tie in with the gold thread in the tags.

To finish off I added a black title as I really liked how that popped against the softer peach/pink colours, and wrote my journaling just below that.

Hi Friends! Today, I am creating with the gorgeous Geo Floral Leaves Cut File combined with some of the amazing new foils from SpiegelMom Scraps that we are creating with this month. I am absolutely in love with how easy these foils are to use with cut files and this floral one is perfect for a layout about my sister’s bridal shower!

I started off with a white cardstock background and added some inking around the edges of the paper. I then chose a bunch of different coordinating 6×8 pattered papers that I wanted to use to create an oversized photo mat. I did just a touch of mixed media by adding some stamping as well as some splatters on my background.

I then went ahead and added some lace trim under my photo that could serve as a little shelf for my title die cut word. Then, it was finally time to add my gorgeous foiled cut files. I cut them in a couple of different sizes so that I could tuck them in to different areas AND so that I could maximize my foil usage. For the largest leaf, I thought that it would be fun to cut it in both white and metallic so that I could glue them together slightly offset in order to create a layered, dimensional look…almost like a shadow!

I hope that you enjoyed my version of the geo floral cut files paired up with the gorgeous Fab foils. I really think that they created a fun look with a little more glamorous feel to match my photo!

xoxo, Khristina

CUT to YOU | A Love Like Gnome Other | Melinda Sweetman

Hello CUT to YOU family and welcome to the blog tody for my first February post!! I am so, so, so excited to be sharing this page with you!

So, as you can see, I have used the oh so fun and adorable brand new Gnome cut files! I seriously love these so, so much!! First up that title – “A Love Like Gnome Other“.

And the other is, of course, “Mr & Mrs Gnome“, aren’t they just adorable?!

I’m sure you noticed too all of that gorgous gold foil!! That is the stunning new “Fab Foils” from Spiegelmom Scraps. This month we are collaborating Fab Foils & Cut Files for some shiny fun!!

This foil adds so much pop to a project and, once you get the hang of applying it, it is so easy to work with! As you can see I’ve used it here to back parts of Mr & Mrs Gnome and also to add in the letters for the title.

Now, because I like to challenge myself (apparently lol) I have also decided to play along with one of this months CSI challenges!

I was inspired by the colour palette, the theme of love, the idea of writing my journalling in letter format and those little pops of black in the doodled type images.

I have a process video for you which is linked below to show just how this page came together and I do hope you enjoy!

Have you checked out all of the gorgeous new release cut files for Feb yet? Which is your fave? Or perhaps you were like me and just HAD to cut Mr & Mrs Gnome IMMEDIATELY?! Either way, I hope that this inspires you in some way!! So many options with this share lol

I have already got a start on my next share and can’t wait to share that with you but until then, happy scrapping and I’ll see you soon!

Just perfect as you are | Tamara Buckler

Hello lovely peeps,

My challenge for this week was to use black cardstock for my cut file, which is a no brainer for me because I love that and do it a lot! So I decided to take it up a notch, and use the Fab Foil we received in our collab with Spiegel Mom Scraps this month, and let me tell you, I’m so glad I did!! I loved the result so much that I’m up on the blog today with a double whammy share!

I started my first layout by adhering the Fab Foil to a piece of black cardstock. As the foil comes in 6×12 sheets, it covered half the piece of cardstock. I was then able to duplicate the Floral Edge Cut File that I had picked from the CTY shop so that it cut on the foil half and the black half of the page.

I honestly could not believe how easily the Fab Foil cut in my Silhouette! I thought it may have been challenging to cut such as intricate file, but it was no worries at all! I would recommend using the double cut function, just to super sure it cuts all the way through the cardstock as well.

Once I had the files cut, I picked this series of photos and when I put the two elements together, I was getting grungy vibes. So I pulled out some vintage inspired papers, laid down some gesso and ink splatters, and tore some paper strips. I adhered the black part of the cut file completely to the page but only adhered the inner edge of the foil cut, so that the leaves and floral elements had some movement. This worked out great with the foil because it seemed to catch the light more.

I took the same approach on my second layout, laying down the foil, duplicating and cutting the file twice. This is where I learnt my lesson about the double cut, as the file was cut through the foil but not all the way through the cardstock. It was fine and I was able to sort it out, but it was definitely easier with the double cut!

For this page I cut the Floral Ampersand Cut File, and laid the black and foil cuts much closer together to create a shadow effect. I decided at this point that I wanted to go with a monochromatic layout, so set about gathering black and white elements for my page.

I painted some black stripes on to my white cardstock with a dry brush, and then added gold and black splatters. I struggled a little with where to place my photo in relation to the shape of the ampersand but decided it looked best nestled in at the bottom.

I really didn’t need to do too much more to the page because the Cut File and stripes packed a big punch. I added in some black and white elements sticking to a visual triangle, and then sprinkled around some gold sequins to ground the Cut File.

I really love how these pages came together! The Fab Foil from Spiegelmom Scraps really is a dream! Make sure you pop over there and check out the other colours! And while you are at it, pop over to the CTY shop and check out this months latest releases, they are fab!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Big loves, Tam xo

Shine Bright | Tarrah McLean

Hi crafty friends! Its Tarrah back with you today to share a new layout created for an awesome collaboration between CUT to YOU and Spiegel Mom Scraps!

Spiegel Mom Scraps has recently come out with some gorgeous foil called Fab Foils! It is so easy to use and it adds a gorgeous shiny, shimmery effect to cut files, die-cuts, you can even emboss it. No need for any extra machine with this foil!

First thing to do was to adhere the foil to the cardstock, you have to do this process a little slowly to make sure there are no bubbles in the foil. I then loaded the cardstock and foil into my Cameo. I decided to cut out 3 different sized diamonds from the Too Glam cut file design. The Cameo cut through both perfectly.

Too Glam cut file

I chose the diamond shape cut file design because I thought by adding the foil it would give it that extra bit of shine, I love how the diamonds turned out! I backed the largest and smallest with a soft pink paper and the medium sized one with a black and white stripe paper. Once the diamond shapes were backed, I added craft foam underneath each one and adhered them to my background paper starting from the largest to the smallest.

In the close up image below you can really see the shine from the silver foil. Its so pretty and just enhances the design so much more. I chose to title my page, ‘Shine Bright’, I used some older Thickers from my stash and placed it under my photo. The photo for this layout is of my 2 gorgeous nieces, I just adore these girls to pieces. I miss them terribly as they live in England but we video call as much as we can.

I love to layer embellishments right on top of cut files, I have added some chipboard words, resin stars, stickers and a Charms Creations X and O. I also added a mini black and white fabric bow.

I hope you enjoyed my layout today?! Don’t forget to check out the awesome Fab Foils over at Spiegel Mom Scraps and stop by the CUT to YOU store for gorgeous cut files for all projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy creating!
