Sun + Shine | Summer Vibes cut file | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new Summer themed layout featuring the gorgeous Summer Vibes title cut file. I decided to take just the sun shape from the cut file and put the title away to use another time.

Summer Vibes cut file

I cut the design out from white cardstock and then backed it with a nice pink patterned paper. I then added craft foam underneath and adhered it to the top half of the teal scalloped patterned paper I chose for my background. I also adhered a strip of the blue patterned paper just under the sun cut file. I love the shadows the layout gets when elements are popped up with dimensional adhesive.

I placed my photo and the layers under my photo towards the right of my page and also some adhered some embellishments here too. Some embellishments I added were stickers, floral and regular die- cuts, floral transparent pieces, puffy stickers and chipboard pieces. I placed my title ‘Sun + Shine’ in the arch of the sun and also adhered a wood veneer cloud here.

To the left of my photo I placed a tag upside down so that the tie was at the bottom, I love the texture some twine brings to a layout. I also adhered the Sun Shine Sun yellow diecut here. As I added yellow here I then strategically placed a yellow embellishment in 2 other positions on my layout to create a visual triangle on my layout.

Summer Vibes | Ali Skifton

Hello, my Cut To You Friends,

It is Ali here with you today sharing a layout I scrap lifted from the Cut File Queen, Gwen.  It is Cut To You’s third birthday, and we are celebrating all month by picking one of Gwen’s creation and making it our own.   One of my favorite layouts that Gwen created was with the Summer Vibes cut file.

I knew I wanted to use the Simple Stories, Sunkissed collection because of the colors and the cute sun paper that was included in this collection.  I had an idea that I wanted to curl those sun rays and thought it would be so cute to have the suns underneath the rolled part, peeking out and one on each of the rays that I curled.  I then hand stitched around the sun with orange thread, and it added so much texture to the cut file.  I backed the letter with orange polka dot paper to tie with the orange in the sun.

I decided to kiss the paper with some blue paint for the background to make the sun pop even more.  I used foam tape on the back of the cut file to give the layout some dimension.  I then decorated around the cut file with stickers and enamel dots and loved how it turned out.

I used a picture from a trip to Chicago my Husband and I took and love all the bright neon colors in the photo.  I just feel the summer vibes pouring out of this page!

Please share on the CTY Headquarters Facebook page if you decide to scrap lift one of our designs.  We would love to see it.

Happy Summer!

Love, Ali xoxo

Hello Sunshine | Kelly Pyron

Hello friends and welcome! I have a fun, new layout to share with you today using the Hello Sunshine cut file.

The weather in Texas is finally warm enough for a nice, relaxing day at the pool. My grandkids were so excited to finally go swimming and I was happy to snap some pool-side photos!

I am using Simple Stories Vintage Coastal collection for this layout. I cut the file on some textured white cardstock and backed it with one of the patterned papers from the collection. My background is very busy, so I went with a bright coral pattern for the sun and a lighter color for the the words. I also added some foam adhesive to the cut file to give it some dimension so it stood apart from the busy background. Lastly, I used a watercolor brush marker to add a little watercolor detail to the letters in the title and sun.

This collection has a lot of collage-type elements and so I decided to really play off of that design and use it to create two big clusters of embellishments on either side of the title and photo. I layered lots of stickers from the 12.x 12 sticker sheet and used foam adhesive to lift some of the elements and left some stuck flat to the page. I really think this “ collage feel” adds a lot of interest to the design.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope this layout gives you some warm, summer vibes and a little inspiration! Be sure to stop by the Cut to You blog and check out all the great summer themed cut files!

CUT to YOU | Summer Vibes | Summer Vibes Cut File

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. I don’t know how you feel, but I am longing sooo much for summer! I love sunshine, swimming and bathing, having fun and freedom, so I chose a photo from last summer. We’d just got a new beach mattress, a flamingo, which is sooo big, that my daughter can lie on it. 🙂

For my layout I chose the Summer Vibes cut file, which I cut from white cardstock and started to back it with the Sunkissed collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio. This collection is perfect for all those summer memories, it has beautiful bright colours. The Summer Vibes cut file has 2 parts, so you can use them also apart.

I only put some small drops of glue on the sun cut file from the Summer Vibes cut file, because I wanted to hand-stich it. First I punched out the holes, than I stitched it with the different yellow threads.

Then I backed the words: I chose pink for the word summer to refer to the flamingo on the photo, and the ombre blue for the word vibes, to refer on the water on the photo.

Then came the fun part: I had to arrange everything on my white cardstock. I cut a one inch stripe from the Good Vibrations patterned paper and glued it on the link side. I glued the two parts of the Summer Vibes cut file in the middle of the layout, but I moved the words a little bit to the right and the sun to the left. I put the photo on the left side of the cut files.

Then I started to decorate my page. I used some die cuts and also used my Sizzix and made some hibiscus flowers and palm leaves with some dies from my stash. I also added one brush stripe clear sticker and two wood buttons.

I just love how happy, how good vibes this layout has! Can’t wait for summer! 😀
