Hello friends! This month I am loving working on some wedding layouts and for my second share for the Design Team I was challenged to create BOY themed layout. I love geometric designs for my masculine layouts and have been wanting to use this String Art Cube Cut File and Kit from KIT to YOU for quite some time. Documenting this photo of my husband and his groomsmen was the perfect way to use it!
You can see how I created this layout in detail in my process video:
And here are a few more close-up images.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and check out my layout. I hope you have a great day!
Hello creative friends! Today I am sharing my first project for the month of August. This month’s cut file release inspired me to spend the month working on layouts for my wedding album. And for my first layout, I’m using this gorgeous Simply Floral Pendant Cut File.
I thought that the Simply Floral Pendant Cut File would be perfect for some photos of my bridesmaids and I in our matching floral robes. I knew that I wanted this cut file to take up the majority of my page and serve as the background layer for what would almost become a very large cluster in the middle of the page.
I cut the file from a patterned paper and then backed it with two layers, cut from plain white cardstock, to provide some dimension and stability. I backed the cut file with a selection of coordinating patterned papers in soft pastels and florals. I added a little bit of soft mixed media to my white background paper and adhered the cut file flat onto the page. I double-matted my white cardstock background with coordinating patterned papers and added some machine stitching around the border.
I added a white matte to my photos, then a couple of soft layers of white tissue paper behind them before adhering them to the page with foam tape. Using a variety of complimentary die-cut ephemera and stickers, I created LOTS of layers around my photos.
I chose two complimentary alpha stickers to create my title, “My Beautiful Ladies”, which I adhered at the bast of my feature photo. I typed out my journalling on my typewriter, cut it into strips and adhered it nestled under the title running down the page. I finished off my layout by sprinkling dots in a variety of coordinating colours all around the page.
If you’d like to see how I created this layout in more detail, I would absolutely love for you to check out my process video.
